El complejo del Palacio Real fue establecido en 1782 y consta no solo de salones reales y del trono, sino también de varias oficinas gubernamentales, así como del famoso Templo del Buda Esmeralda. Tiene una superficie de 218.000 metros cuadrados y está rodeada por cuatro muros de 1900 metros de longitud. Después de que el rey Rama I ascendió al trono en 1782, el palacio fue construido. Antes de esto, el palacio real y el centro de administración se habían ubicado en Thonburi, en la orilla oeste del río Chao Phraya. Por diversas razones, el nuevo Rey consideró que la antigua capital no era adecuada y decidió establecer una nueva capital al otro lado del río. Por su mando real, se construyó un palacio para servir no solo como su residencia sino también como el sitio de oficinas administrativas. Mr. Oak took us to the Royal Palace and Wat Phra Kaew. He did a great job and was very kind and helpful throughout the trip. Even though the weather was very hot and the places were crowded, he made everything easy and comfortable for us. He has a great service mind and took good care of all the tourists. I hired a guide who unfortunately didn't speak very good English, I hardly understood the explanation of the place, although she was kind. And the temple was beautiful.
