Wonderful time to spend with Grandkids
Very helpful with my 86 yr young Mom, on the train, at the rim , and at the motel. Great entertainment also.
Definitely a must do. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the aspects of the canyon. Cheryl was our train car guide and she kept things fun and eventful with her stories.
Lots of fun for families. Nice café car with sandwiches and snacks and drinks. Wine and beer are also served
This is the perfect way to visit the Grand Canyon. No driving or thinking involved. Just jump on the train and enjoy the ride. We opted for first class on the way there and the Dome Cars on the return trip. To be honest first class was better and the seats were more comfortable, the dome just gives you a broader view to the sky. We enjoyed a nice brunch on the way there and some nibbles and drinks on the way back, complete with a train robbery. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable and provided us with a fun experience. Highly recommended for a relaxing Grand Canyon experience
Really fun way to get to the Grand Canyon. Well run, well staffed, Sheryl was an entertaining host in our car. Full of facts and stories. Our 4 boys (ages 9, 7, 5, 3) really enjoyed the experience. If bringing young kids, bringing activity/coloring books is helpful as the ride is 1.5 hours each way.
Emmett on the Pullman train was awesome. Unfortunately I left without tipping him. I'm looking into how to do that.
The ride into the park was slow and relaxed the train does 40mph at its fastest. If you’re a family with younger kids it’ll be great as there is a lot of yelling. Our carriage entertainment was fun although when you’ve already spent a small fortune on tickets the rest seems like a bit of a money grab.
Taking the train made for a relaxing a fun trip from Williams to the Grand Canyon. There was a lot of information and entertainment.
It started out well until 10 minutes out of the station. We had an observation car and the AC failed. The conductor said she would look into it. Never came back to give up date. After an hour she said to go find some seats. We went forward and ran into another conductor who said we had to go back, not her problem. Finally we were told to sit up in the observation deck until they could decide what to do. Finally found seats in another car further back. I paid for observation got to sit in regular car. Told I would have to contact someone about it . Left message no reply. There was a photographer that I got the feeling she thought I was just a complainer and tried to appease me with more photos. Of course my wife liked all the photos so that was not really a plus. I just find that the crew cannot handle people in a way that makes them feel they are important to the rail road. We were basically ignored even when I told the supervisor that my wife has a medical condition that she can’t stay in the heat. She said just wait. Not a good answer.
