El punto de encuentro es en el muelle de Tha Chang, frente al Gran Palacio.
El resplandeciente Gran Palacio de Bangkok es una maravilla arquitectónica que alguna vez fue el hogar de los reyes de la dinastía Chakri. Una visita al ornamentado e histórico Gran Palacio, y al adyacente Templo del Buda Esmeralda, es un punto culminante de cualquier visita al Reino. El palacio fue construido en 1782 por los Rama I, el primer rey de la dinastía Chakri, cuando trasladó la capital de lo que entonces se conocía como el Reino de Siam de Thonburi en la orilla oeste del río Chao Phraya a Bangkok en la orilla este. Durante 150 años el palacio fue la casa del rey tailandés. Hoy en día, el complejo sigue siendo el corazón espiritual del Reino de Tailandia. Wat Pho es uno de los templos más antiguos de la capital tailandesa. También es uno de los complejos de templos más grandes de Bangkok y tiene la mayor colección de imágenes de Buda en Tailandia. Wat Pho mantiene el título como el primer centro de educación pública del país, especializado en religión, ciencia y literatura. La mayoría de las imágenes de Buda expuestas fueron llevadas a Wat Pho, por orden del rey Rama I, desde templos abandonados en Ayutthaya y Sukhothai. Y por supuesto visitarás el Buda reclinado, una de las estatuas de Buda más grandes de Tailandia. Una estancia en la capital tailandesa no está completa sin visitar Wat Arun, el Templo del Amanecer, uno de los monumentos más famosos de Bangkok. Después de la caída de Ayutthaya, el rey Taksin estableció un palacio real y un templo aquí para albergar al Buda Esmeralda. El templo fue nombrado en honor al dios indio del amanecer, Aruna. No fue hasta que la capital y el Buda Esmeralda fueron trasladados a Wat Phra Kaew en el lado de Bangkok que Wat Arun recibió su característica más destacada : los 82 metros de altura prang (torre de estilo jemer). - El tráfico de Bangkok puede estar muy congestionado. Como nuestros tours se realizan en grupo, podemos esperar un máximo de 10 minutos después de la hora de reunión programada. - Nuestros tours operan con lluvia o sol, ya que las lluvias tropicales en Tailandia generalmente no duran mucho. Si llueve intensamente, tratamos de buscar refugio y continuaremos tan pronto como mejore el clima. Durante la temporada de lluvias, es una buena idea llevar un impermeable o poncho. Great architecture and amazing landscape terrible guided and expensive tour through Tripadvisor! Local guide couldn’t speak English and was clueless; 6 people booked up 4 dropped off less than mid way as it was so disappointing, 130 bucks for two adults through Tripadvisor; the entry fees and charges to the royal palaces which you could have gotten for 20 USD on the door on the day would have been a far better option; and a hand held device in the language of your choice which would have been preferable and more convenient. Do your own thing and make sure you wear long trousers out of courtesy and respect in the temples.
