The Gorges du Verdon itself was absolutely amazing. We visited all the advertised stops, the scenery was breathtaking, and the destination is definitely worth visiting. I would recommend spending as much time there as possible. Unfortunately, the experience was seriously affected by our guide, Nicole. She was 40 minutes late for pickup, did not consistently follow the agreed meeting points, and only gave us important instructions once we were already in the van. Her attitude was also unnecessarily rude and made the day quite uncomfortable. At one point, she explicitly told us to let her handle the van’s sliding door, then rudely told us that we should have closed it ourselves and that it was a matter of “common sense”, before apologizing and acknowledging that she had, in fact, told us not to handle the door (??). She explained that she was having a stressful day, which I can understand, but unfortunately that stress was taken out on the paying customers. The commentary was also limited and offered little interesting or insightful information about the places we visited. Overall, the problem was 100% the guide and 0% the destination. For the price, I expected a much more professional experience and, in retrospect, wished I had simply rented a car and visited independently.
It is a long drive for very little scenery. The gorge itself was muddy and busy. All the electric boats were unrentable/not charged. The gorgeous picture on the viator app is a quick drive by.The guide’s English was very poor (we booked the English tour). She offered no history regarding our stops or recommendations. The guide was basically a bus driver. Most mediocre experience and not inexpensive.
Justine was a fantastic guide. She ensured our enjoyment of the day, and I felt very safe with her driving. Her customer service was excellent..
Lovely tour in nature with visits of waterfalls and small cute village. Raphael made sure we were entertained all the way - it was fun, interesting and beautiful! Water activities were coolest bonus!
Beautiful! The route was interesting and well planned. The guide was great in all ways. The views were breathtaking and exciting.
An extraordinary experience with our guide Raphaël! The whole group spent a wonderful day discovering the Verdon Gorge and small neighboring villages. The time was well distributed and Raphaël paid attention to the wishes of each member of the group. Unforgettable memories, thank you!
Most of the tour is spent traveling to each destination so thats my only negative. Bruno is such a kind, funny and energetic person> and each location was great to see
Majo is very nice and professional
We went as a family of four in early August 2026. The drive up was really scenic and the roads were perfect drivable, something the region doesn’t guarantee. We booked 2 hours electric boat hire for 1pm. I am glad we did as there were huge queues and many disappointed people. 2 hours was just right for a relaxing, slow, cruise down the gorge and around the lake. A few points. 1. It is very busy. Constantly dodging pedalos, kayaks, swimmers etc: 2. It is as lovely as it looks. 3. We saw people struggling on pedalos as it’s a long way there and back. 4. There is minimal shade. 5. You can buy drinks and food there, not cheap but not as bad as it could be. We paid €7 for a hotdog and €3 for soft drinks. 6. You are not allowed to jump off the electric boats. 7. The water is lovely for a swim. All in all a fabulous day we all loved.
The lake of Sainte-Croix is the main destination for the tour and it’s beautiful! Bruno was our guide on this tour - he has a good heart and was trying to get us to as many destinations as possible, but was often difficult to understand - there was a language barrier and hence confusion we had to overcome. The drive is through windy roads and not for everyone, but once we get to the lake, its makes up for the long drive and the difficulties. Overall a great trip, but only for those with resilience and a lot of patience.
