The people are very nice. The excursion was disappointing. We were picked up at 8:45 am and traveled over the roughest gravel roads I’ve ever experienced (and I grew up on dirt roads) for over two hours. We finally entered Glacier Park at 12:15 pm. We did have a nice scenic picnic lunch. We exited the park at 2:20 pm. There were rare stops in the park for photo opportunities and stops outside the park were nice but were subpar to the Glacier Park views. Our driver, John, was very nice and kind but gave us more info about the “red bus tour” history and personal travel stories than actual Glacier Park history and information. It was a super senior citizen friendly but might be disappointing to the more adventurous and agile passenger. I had driven the Going-to-the-Sun road (from east to west) the day before and was hoping to have more photo opportunities on the west side at the main attractions. Though the excursion is what is advertised, I felt a bit “ripped off”, believing that a West Glacier Tour would be primarily inside the Glacier National Park. Had I known we’d be two hours on the worst roads in Montana, I would have passed. Definitely not for those with a propensity to motion sickness.
The guide was so good for yellowstone we ordered it again. We will use this guide for all parks we visit. So Good!
I wasn’t sure what to expect this late in the season, but I didn’t want to try to explore Glacier on my own when I know very little about it, so I booked this tour, and I’m so glad I did! I ended up having the tour to myself, so I got to hike a bit, saw some hidden gems, got to touch Lake MacDonald, and even stopped at a distillery on our way out of the park! My guide, John, was wonderful: funny, informative, and an adventurer who has extensive park knowledge, so we had a blast. I’d recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience Glacier—just go earlier in the season to see the west side, too!
Stunning national park. Worth several days to see it all!
great people, very friendly and on time to pick you up! John H was knowledgeable and happy to share stories of the park.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! We're glad you enjoyed your day with John and appreciated his knowledge of Glacier National Park and its history. While wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed in a national park, every day in Glacier offers something different. We focus on creating a memorable experience by sharing the park's incredible scenery, stories, and hidden gems along the way. We're happy to hear you found the tour enjoyable and appreciate you choosing to explore Glacier with us!
John was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Thank you so much for your review! Glad you had a good day.
Had a great time! Guide Phil was great!
Thank you!
We had a small group of 4 on this tour! Our driver was Phil! He gave her lots of information and took us to many sights!
Thank you so much for your kind review!
Our tour guide Adam was amazing. So knowledgeable. We enjoyed every moment. Highly, highly recommend using Glacier Tours.
We are happy to know you had an amazing day!! Thank you!
We had a wonderful day, despite intermittent rain. Dan was a wonderful guide, with great knowledge of the geography, geology and history of the region. We asked a lot of questions and he had the answers, as well as offering up a lot of interesting facts about Glacier. The length of the tour was just right, and we were in a smaller-than-expected group (likely because of the weather), and enjoyed the other couple’s company. We would highly recommend this trip, especially with Dan.
I am so glad to hear you would reommend this trip. Thank you!
