Dificultad: Alto Duración: 5 horas Distancia total: 2 millas (aprox. 3 km) Temporada: Verano (septiembre-abril) Tamaño del grupo: Hasta 12 viajeros La caminata en hielo por el glaciar Grey es una aventura única de 5 horas que ofrece la rara oportunidad de caminar directamente sobre el hielo de uno de los glaciares más emblemáticos de Torres del Paine. Una vez que el grupo esté listo, un barco zodiacal lo transportará a una playa remota cerca del borde del glaciar. Allí, caminarás durante aproximadamente una hora a través de la morrena rocosa para llegar al punto de partida. Después de un completo informe de seguridad del guía, te atarás los crampones y te embarcarás en una caminata de 2,5 horas por la superficie del glaciar, un viaje inolvidable a través de un mundo helado de grietas, hielo azul y paisajes impresionantes. INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE: Para poder realizar el tour a las 8:30 AM es imprescindible pernoctar en Grey Camping o Refugio la noche anterior Para poder hacer el recorrido a las 14:30 es imprescindible pernoctar en el Camping o Refugio Grey al finalizar la actividad

I booked the 8:30 a.m. departure after having breakfast at 7 a.m. at Grey Hostel. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the hostel to the tour meeting point, following the signs. We reached the glacier by motorboat, and we were provided with crampons and ice axes. The tour was led by two guides. We didn’t go very far onto the glacier, but they showed us a river right on the ice where we could collect drinking water. We returned around 12:00–12:30 p.m., which left enough time to have lunch at the hostel and still plenty of time to walk to Paine Grande Hostel.

Good experience. Helpful and well prepared guides. Good equipment and clear instructions. Definitely recommend it as an add-on to the W trek. We stayed the night at Refugio Grey and it made for a great afternoon activity.

Carlos and Mickey were fabulous guides who showed us many highlights as we walked across Grey Glacier. They took the time to ensure everyone was safe, had ample time to take photos and see lots of caves, deep ravines and blue pools in the Glacier itself. The experience was Amazing - and they captured many photos to remember the experience.
