Descripción
Este recorrido trata principalmente de la escultura de Richard Serra. La impresionante escultura en la reserva natural de Brouq en el desierto. Ras Brouq, una península ubicada en la costa oeste de Qatar, alberga los restos de la ocupación humana prehistórica. Las hermosas e icónicas formaciones rocosas de Ras Brouq ofrecen una visión de un paisaje prehistórico. Y en el medio podrás ver la Formación de Roca Champiñón, la Aldea Zekreet y las Ruinas del Fuerte Zekreet.

Itinerario
Zekreet es un pueblo en el noroeste de Qatar. El fuerte de Zekreet se encuentra en la costa oeste de Qatar, a 90 km de Doha. El fuerte tiene un diseño muy distintivo que permite ver las dos fases diferentes de construcción. Originalmente, el fuerte fue construido como un simple cuadrado sin torres en cada esquina. En una segunda fase de desarrollo, se agregaron torres en las cuatro esquinas exteriores del fuerte.
El artista internacionalmente aclamado Richard Serra agrega la asombrosa escultura East-West/West-East al paisaje desértico, llevando el arte a la gente. East-West/West-East se ha convertido en un hito famoso en Qatar desde su instalación en 2014. Esta impresionante escultura en la reserva natural de Brouq se extiende por más de un kilómetro y consta de cuatro placas de acero, cada una de más de catorce metros de altura.
También puedes ver la playa de Zekreet. Donde se puede ver mucha gente viniendo a hacer kitesurf y parasailing.
La zona destaca por su peculiar paisaje de acantilados blancos. La forma y el color del paisaje son el resultado de la erosión de las capas de piedra caliza blanda, mientras que los acantilados blancos en forma de viento y las extrañas formas geológicas, como colinas en forma de hongo, hacen que el área sea única y especial en Qatar.

Excellent tour of attractions outside Doha. Zubairi gave us a lot of information, was very friendly and careful driver. You’ll see a different Qatar. Recommended.

An interesting trip out of Doha, with the highlight being Richard Serra's amazing East-West / West-East art installation. It was also worth seeing the striking landscape around Mushroom Rock. All-in-all, we enjoyed our time with our guide Muhammad, who was knowledgeable, polite and patient. We felt in very safe hands.

Excellent half-day tour of Western Qatar that included the Mushroom top rocks, East-West West-East monoliths, Zekreet Fort ruins. We also did a stop at the camel race track for a quick look around. Our guide, Zubair was engaging and well informed about the area and the sites we visited.
