The tour was fantastic. We loved our driver and the places we visited. The organizers run into a bit of a vehicle issue but it was resolved right away and our tour was only delayed for 1.5 hours. Even then, the driver accommodated us and ensured we still had enough time at all of the locations, even if it meant she'd be home much later than expected. She was wonderdul and dedinitely went the extra mile to make sure we had a wonderful day.
The bus was 20 minutes late atriving in Canmore. At the Banff pickup spot, there was another significant delay. Apparently the company that runs this tour, Banff ToDo, doesn't own their coach busses. They rent them from a third party. Which might explain why we were on a bus that sat 54 people, even though 55 people booked the tour. One person had to stay behind and was given a voucher for another day. The audio system also didn't work, so our guide had to shout at us every time he spoke. On the way up the mountain to Moraine Lake, an alarm sounded. It continued until our bus broke down on the side of a very curvy mountain road. Police had to come to direct traffic around us. To make a VERY long story short, we were shuffled around, switching busses 3 more times before the day was done. The waiting meant we had less than half the time allotted for each attraction. Neither Viator nor Banff ToDo reached out with apologies or an offer of a refund. Very poor customer service. The attractions were beautiful, but being on a coach with 50+ people meant we were at the slowest person's mercy, only adding to the already significant delays. Please do yourself a favour and visit these beautiful spots with a smaller group, and a tour company that cares about more that their profit.
Worst tour we have ever had, and the tour guide said it was his worst too. First time that the driver has had a bus that stopped working. Rented bus was delayed coming from Calgary and was 20 to 25 minutes late arriving in Canmore And the Bus was several minutes late, leaving Canmore. Another 20 minute delay in Banff because the bus held only 54 people and 56 people were booked so they had to arrange a separate shuttle for two people the next day! The microphone was not working so half the time we could not hear the tour guide talking. The bathroom on the bus did not work, which meant that we had to find a rest stop and waste another 20 minutes instead of using the onboard facility. And just when we thought things couldn’t get worse, the bus stopped driving after hearing beep beep beep beep beep beep sound coming from the driver seat and could no longer proceed so we were stuck on the road for 45 minutes with limited AC until another bus happened to be available to take us from Lake back down to Lake Louise village Given 50 minutes for lunch, we reconvene, but then we’re told we had to wait another half hour for the original bus which was now supposed to be fixed to come and pick us up. We had to do the drive to and from Moraine Lake twice. Johnson Canyon was nice but we had to walk quickly because we only had 45 minutes instead of the promised 90. We had 40 minutes in Banff which was barely enough time to get ice cream. And the tour guide did not give us any history of the area, geology background about the amazing scenery, amusing anecdotes, etc In shirt it was a tour of several buses and not a tour at all. Very disappointing, especially considering that we were celebrating our daughter’s graduation from Resonancia at UCSD and masters program at USF, etc. what was supposed to be an unforgettable day turned into a bit of a nightmare. We kindly request a full refund.
We had a great day, the pick up time was later than planned but overall all was good
It's a long day, dress in layers and beware of eating in the restaurant at the lake Louise stop for lunch, 45 min too short, needs to be longer. My only complaint. Our driver a bit difficult to understand, native Chinese but good tour manager. We saw so many beautiful sites and a small tour bus is the only way to do it.
Highly recommend this tour (and Louis if you’re lucky to get him!) for anyone who wants to experience multiple sights and learn history and facts along the way! Louis was an excellent guide, very professional, and friendly. He even switched up the itinerary to ensure we had the best possible experience at each stop. Overall, a great trip that my mom hasn’t stopped talking about!
The trip itself was good and included sufficiently long enough stops at some of the very best places in Banff area. This trip gets downgraded because the 24 passenger bus did not have air conditioning (although it advertised that it did). This made for not as comfortable a day as it should have been. I kind of got the impression that the air conditioning has not be operating for several days now.
The sites were amazing! We enjoyed each sure we visited. The tour guide did not communicate well. It was difficult to understand what they were saying. When information was presented, which was very little, some of the information was inaccurate. Our lunch stop was not communicated to us, where and when. There was no energy or excitement in the presentation. The van’s air conditioning wasn’t working in the afternoon and it felt like the heater was on. Again we really enjoyed all of places we visited, they were amazing.
Samuel is just an amazing guide! He is fun, laid-back, and has a great sense of humor. There’s absolutely zero stress with him, just pure positivity and good vibes all day long. He also helps you take beautiful photos. The lakes are completely surreal! The color of the water, the views, the nature—it’s absolutely breathtaking. The day flew by in the blink of an eye, leaving me with nothing but the brightest emotions. I highly recommend this tour with Samuel! If you want to see the true beauty of Canada in a fun setting, this is definitely the way to go. Thank you so much, Samuel! 👍
This was a fantastic way to see the major lakes without the hassle of driving and especially parking. We were picked up in Canmore (2801 Bow Valley Trail) in a lot where we could leave our car for the day. (There are public toilets there.) What I appreciated the most is how close we were dropped off to each of the sites. Lake Louise was our first stop and it was just a short distance from where we were dropped off. I was traveling with an 80+ year old and she had no difficulty accessing the sites. The amount of time allotted for each location was appropriate. We didn’t feel rushed nor did we have to linger. Our guide was very friendly and personable. This was absolutely the best way to see the lakes - let someone else do the driving / parking. I definitely recommend this tour!
