El joven Miguel Ángel talló el David en un enorme bloque de mármol áspero en tres años, creando una imponente escultura de absoluta belleza, un icono del modelo renacentista. Representaba a un magnífico joven desnudo en la cúspide de su vigor físico, cuya intensa expresión de fuerza y coraje, que se originó en una fe absoluta en Dios, se alza como símbolo de poder e invencibilidad de la República florentina en la época de su máximo esplendor.

Go early... it can be very crowded but it is well worth the experience, no matter the crowds. The art leaves you with "goose bumps." I would also recommend that you purchase headphones or use a guide. Headphones served us well because it was easier to maneuver through the crowds.

Very awesome display of history. The only reason I give it 4 stars is there was way too much musical history.

The audio could have been better. It would have been helpful if it instructed you a route to take so it would follow the layout of museum or had each number correspond to a number room. (I could not figure out what room I was in)

I didn’t realize there was no tour guide for this tour. You met the “tour guide” and they gave you your tickets and that was it. Much cheaper to buy ticket and audio guide separately.

All the displays of the stunning artwork in this collection were magnificent! I would love to come back many times in the future. I would recommend this activity to all who come to Florence.

The Academia and the David were wonderful. The ticket which I bought from CAF through Get Your Guide is false advertising and I do not recommend you book with Get Your Guide or CAF Tour & Travel. I purchased a ticket with an "optional audio guide", which I found out requires an additional fee that is never mentioned in the booking materials! (Why would the ticket advertise something that it does not provide? Might as well offer "optional lunch" or "optional gift from the gift shop"!) When I contacted customer service Get Your Guide blamed CAF Tour & Travel, and nothing got resolved. While I recommend the David, I also recommend booking with someone else for your peace of mind.
Beware!!! If I could give this zero stars I would! We have used TripAdvisor for 8 different activities this trip alone all have been great EXCEPT for this one. The representative that checked us in ( Karla) was rude and not helpful. I paid for 3 people and had my receipt - she only had 2 people on her list so told us to go get in line to pay for 3 rd ticket. ( wait in line even though I paid for skip the line tickets.) we waited in line and when we got to the front they said they had no more tickets for the day and one of us was unable to go in. Beyond frustrating. Again, had a receipt as proof of # of people I paid for. Then we paid for audio tour but when we went to counter to collect our audio cassette she told me they do not recognize Viator and do not work with that company. This was a horrendous experience, I called to speak to them on the phone and they told us, sorry we can not help you. Go with another company- this tour was the most unorganized, rude, unhelpful group I have ever experienced!!!! Complete waste of money and ruined our morning!!!!
Good morning from Caf, We regret that you didn' t appreciate our service. The problem was that first you booked for 4 people. That you change the reservation from 4 to 2 people. So we modified the reservation and booked two tickets for you. The day of the tour you showed up but you were 3 people. Karla and his colleague at the departure point tried to find and buy one ticket more for you, as we always do in case we have people with no reservation. Unfortunately the museum dind't have tickets available. You spoke also at the phone with one person in the office and she explained you the situations. It doesn't depends on us if the museum is full booked. We hope next time you will have a different experience.
Too expensive to visit this museum.. David to see obviously but overpriced.. Otherwise interesting visit, rather to do at 9 o'clock

This option is ok if you plan to arrive at a peak hour or in the full season. Otherwise, a regular ticket makes more sense. We booked it for mid February and at 09.30 and there was no queue on the normal entrance.
