Statue of David is cool. Rest of the museum is average by comparison
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! We are so glad you enjoyed seeing the legendary Statue of David—it truly is a breathtaking sight. We also appreciate your thoughts on the rest of the museum and will keep them in mind as we continue to improve our offerings. Hope to welcome you back again soon!
This is extremely misleading. MICHAELANGELO'S DAVID IS NOT IN THIS MUSEUM! IT IS LOCATED IN THE UFFIZI GALLERY. Extremely disappointed to arrive and be told we have to book different tickets
Dear James, Thank you for sharing your feedback. However, we would like to respectfully clarify this misconception for you and future travelers: the original, authentic statue of David by Michelangelo is indeed housed inside the Accademia Gallery, right where your ticket gave you access. There is an outdoor replica located at Piazza della Signoria (in front of Palazzo Vecchio), but there is no statue of David inside the Uffizi Gallery. Uffizi Gallery is Famous for Botticelli and Renaissance paintings, but does not house the David. The Accademia Gallery is world-renowned precisely because it holds Michelangelo’s original masterpiece. We are truly sorry for any confusion that led you to believe otherwise during your visit, but we can assure you that you were in the correct location to see the real David! Best regards,
We actually missed it due to scheduling our activities too close together. Can't do everything. But no changes or refunds once you purchase. That's a shame but totally on us
Hi Kenneth, Thank you for leaving a review and for being so understanding about the situation. We are really sorry to hear that you missed the visit! Because the Accademia Gallery issues strict timed-entry tickets, the museum's policies don't allow us to make changes or offer refunds once they are booked. We know how disappointing it is to miss out when a schedule gets tight, but we truly appreciate your grace and fairness regarding the policy. We hope you still had a wonderful time exploring the rest of Florence, and we would love the opportunity to welcome you on a tour next time you visit!
This was a simple entry ticket into the museum, no tour guide provided. Ticket pick up was easy - instructions were very clear. Lady at the counter gave us our tickets, told us what color our line was (red, green or blue). Arrived about 10 minutes before our alotted time and entry was a breeze.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Samantha! We are thrilled to hear that the instructions were clear and that picking up your tickets was a breeze. We always aim to make the entry process as smooth and straightforward as possible so you can spend your time enjoying the incredible artwork inside the Accademia Gallery. We hope you had a wonderful time seeing the Statue of David!
Frustrating process. Had to go through 3 different people by the time we actually got in. First had to get a sticker 2 blocks from the entrance. Then find a random guy to actually get the ticket closer to the entrance then wait in line to enter the building. Also, make sure you have a phone and headphones for EACH person if you pay extra for the audio. I didn’t know we needed head phones and also there was two of us and would have had to share one set of head phones. More description or heads up about this would have been good. I thought we would be getting the little audio machines since we were paying more. Museum itself was really cool!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we are glad you found the museum itself really cool, we are truly sorry to hear that the entry process felt frustrating and confusing. To provide some context, our multi-step check-in process—including gathering at a nearby meeting point to receive a specific sticker—is strictly designed as a security measure to protect our visitors and ensure you don't get scammed on the street by unauthorized ticket vendors. Additionally, we station a host directly at the museum entrance to assist you, verify your group, and make sure everyone gets inside safely and on time. We also sincerely appreciate your note regarding the audio guide requirements. We always strive to make our descriptions as clear as possible, but we will certainly look into making the necessity of individual smartphones and headphones much more prominent so future guests can arrive fully prepared. Thank you again for helping us improve our guest experience, and we hope the breathtaking art inside made the rocky start worthwhile.
I highly recommend seeing this work of art. This was my second time visiting this museum. However, it was extremely crowded, and the Viator ticket was not accepted in the line. I was told to go to an ATM and find a guy. I barely made my entry time.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we are glad you highly recommend seeing Michelangelo's David! However, we are truly sorry for the stress and confusion you experienced regarding the ticket collection. To clarify, the Viator voucher itself cannot be scanned directly at the museum museum entrance. As part of our strict security and check-in process to protect visitors from street scams, guests must first collect their official entry tickets from our staff located at a designated meeting point nearby (often near recognizable landmarks like an ATM). We station a host at the entrance specifically to help manage lines and ensure everyone gets in safely and on time. We apologize that this felt disorganized and caused you to rush, and we will work on making our meeting point instructions even clearer for future guests. We hope the breathtaking art inside made the stressful start worth it!
Terrible my tickets were supposed to be picked up at 11:45 . They changed on me to 2:30 but unfortunately I had to be heading back to my meeting point to go back to ship . Need a refund
The museum is on the smaller side but that worked out perfectly for our group who had varying levels of interest in art. Paulina did a wonderful job of keeping everyone engaged and providing fun bit of information that appealed to everyone in the group. I had initially wanted to just explore the museum without a guide but was so very happy that we had Paulina to draw our attention to certain items and provide information instead of reading plaques or listening to an audio guide. Great tour!
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that Paulina made the Accademia Gallery come alive for your entire group. It can be a challenge to keep everyone engaged when interest levels vary, so we are glad her fun facts and insights did the trick. We love hearing that having a guide changed your perspective and beat reading plaques or using an audio guide! Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you on another tour in the future.
I purchased a guided tour, not a self-audio guide tour, but there was no instruction where or how to meet the guide. I enjoyed the museum by myself, but I’m quite disappointed with the management. Skipping the line, however, was very helpful in the heat of the day.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad that the skip-the-line entry was helpful in the summer heat and that you enjoyed exploring the museum, but we are truly sorry for the confusion regarding your booking. Upon reviewing this ticket option, please note that this specific product is for Fast-Track Entry Tickets with a Digital Audio Guide, rather than a live, guided group tour. We realize that navigating the ticket descriptions can sometimes be confusing, and we apologize if the format of your booking was not entirely clear before your arrival. Regarding the instructions, we always aim to send detailed meeting point details 1–2 days prior to the visit. We are sorry if these did not reach your inbox or went unnoticed, and we will use your feedback to make our pre-arrival communication even more visible. We appreciate your patience with our management, and we are glad you still got to experience the incredible art inside the Accademia.
Do not buy from Viator. We got in line and were told to go to an ATM to find a guy. We barely made our time slot!
