Great gallery. Poor Viator instructions.

The guide was not where we were told she would be. The instructions did not indicate the audio guide was your own iPhone & an app download and personal ear buds would be necessary.

Good experience

Booking and automatic rest easy and timely, only improvement the recognition of the person in charge of the delivery of tickets, maybe it would be enough to provide the mobile number, also it was not clear that the audio guide was not included

Museum is a must! Viator communication was misleading.

The museum is a must see in Rome. However, in booking with Viator the instructions said to meet “Rome Tours” at the base of the stairs on the right of the entrance and someone with a blue and white shirt would meet me there. I was there 10 minutes before to get my ticket. There were tour groups lined up on the right side of the garden in the shade. None of them wearing blue and white shirts had a sign that said “Rome Tours.” After 10 minutes past my entry time, I looked for a number to call, and when I dialed the phone a recording said “Once Upon a Time Tours” which I had seen a sign for earlier. The rep, however was not wearing a blue and white shirt. She had taken it off, and when she showed it to me it was a white shirt with blue lettering. Instructions from Viator were misleading, it was harder than it needed to be to get my ticket, and I lost time in the museum.

What to know before you go

Make sure you rserve because the event was at capacity. A bit stressful trying to find the correct tour guide company but even the competing tour guides were very helpful. Read all information carefully to know who you are supposed to look for at the event. We selected an unguided tour but I would go withe guide next time.

No recommendations at all, real disappointment

I got a ticket with an incorrect (expired) date and couldn’t go in – a disaster

Museum was incredible! Finding the ticket person wasn’t!

The person we were to get our tickets from was not very visible and difficult to find. We had to ask other tour guides where he might be. After about ten minutes we finally found him!

Rip off agent

Price of the ticket 13 euros. Charged 37. No any help from the operator. Was not happy, wanted resell the ticket under price for ten euros, people were desperate to get the ticket. Get abuse over the phone from the operator, she was threatening with police as the ticket is her property.

Wonderful venue; dreadful ticketing

Easy and reliable service aside from finding the rep with the ticket. That was quite easy but why, oh why, can’t the ticket just come to my phone? I just had to locate a someone and be given a piece of paper! To be fair this was easier than other major sights, such as the Pantheon where I queued only to be sent to the bookshop in a church 800 metres away to get my piece of paper. I adore Rome but despair of the booking issues. Might just be me but the public internet seemed variable. Great time marred by poorly thought out ticketing procedures in most places.
