Itinerario

The excursion was wonderful, from the first contact until our return to the hotel. Our driver, Mr. Azouz, drove brilliantly, ensuring our safety and peace of mind throughout the trip. Attentive to our needs, he provided us with important explanations and was always very kind, especially with our children. Having a professional of this quality by our side was essential for this experience to be a success. And what surprised us the most was his kindness: he prepared a typical Tunisian dish for us from his home, shakshuka, which we really wanted to taste and could not find anywhere else. An unforgettable memory.
Our fun VIP day trip: El Jem, Kairouan, and Monastir were a total success. Impeccable organization from the Simba Fun Travel agency, modern and very clean vehicle. Our driver-guide, Jalel, was really great. Very careful, a former tour bus driver, he knew all the best spots and gave us plenty of explanations about the places visited but also about daily Tunisian life. He is passionate about his job, he is very flexible and attentive to our needs. He is a rare gem.
Good communication from the company — I got a WhatsApp message the day before telling me my guide was called Amir, along with his number, and that he'd be in touch shortly. I sent him a quick message to confirm the pickup time and location, and he replied straight away, very friendly. Amir arrived on time on the day. We had a saloon car that was new, clean and well maintained. The A/C worked, which was important, as it was the hottest day of our stay — around 48°C (the car's display actually registered 52°C at one point). We set off for Kairouan, which Amir told us is the fourth most important city in Islam. The journey took around an hour, and Amir spent the time telling us about Tunisia, its people and its heritage. We very much enjoyed the conversation, and his English was excellent. Before visiting the Mosque in Kairouan, we stopped at a small Makroudh and Knafeh shop that's been run by the same family for over 100 years. It clearly wasn't a tourist trap — the food was excellent and the prices more than reasonable. We then headed to the Mosque to park up. Amir explained that, because we'd unknowingly booked our trip on the Prophet Mohammed's birthday, the Mosque was closed. He took us to a vantage point to see inside instead, via a rug shop with a small café on top offering refreshments and toilets we could use. We felt compelled to buy a handmade tote bag from the rug shop given their hospitality, though they weren't pushy at all — it gave us a chance to flex our bartering skills. We then hopped back in the car and drove to El Djem to see the Roman Amphitheatre, a journey of about 90 minutes that took us through some parts of real Tunisia along the way. We could see the amphitheatre on approach — it's such an impressive structure. On arrival, Amir gave us an hour while he waited. At the ticket office, the price of 44 dinar (£11) for two adults and two children was surprisingly reasonable. The Amphitheatre is incredible to walk around, steeped in history. As it was such a hot day, being exposed to the sun was tough going, so we headed down to the basement, which was refreshingly cool under all that stone. Amir was already waiting when our time was up, and he then took us to get some lunch. The drive back took about an hour, with Amir telling us more about the area along the way. As a family, we all thoroughly enjoyed the trip. It was our first private tour, and not having to wait around with small children in the extreme heat was a real plus. Amir was fantastic — knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. We really couldn't have wished for a better guide.
We enjoyed our tour with big thanks to Ayoub our professionnal and super guide.
i had a wonderful time... and my driver/guide Asius was the best... he was so knowlegable and helpful.
It was incredibly hot (temperature reached up to 49 degrees that day) but Azouz still provided a good experience for us - he was engaging, conversational, considerate and accommodating. He sets expectations well and kept us safe and comfortable. Also a very good navigator and driver.
We are super happy with how this tour came out! Kairouan and Sousse were lovely, but El Jam was out of this world. Tour allows you to adjust timeline to your personal wishes, so you never feel rushed. Drive is comfortable and your tour guide gives you useful local insights and advices. Our tour guide Moez was super helpful and engaging, we really enjoyed our time with him. Thank you Moez!
We had a truly wonderful experience with Issam during our VIP tour. From the very beginning, he proved to be an excellent guide and companion: patient, attentive, discreet, and always present whenever we needed him. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his explanations, giving us plenty of interesting information while always respecting our pace and allowing us to enjoy every moment of the experience. Above all, Issam is a kind, reliable and trustworthy person, which made us feel completely comfortable and safe throughout the entire day. The car was spotless, very clean and comfortable, and the whole tour was perfectly managed. Our entire family really appreciated the experience, and Issam played a huge part in making the day so enjoyable and memorable. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, trustworthy and genuinely caring guide. Thank you, Issam, for taking such good care of our family! Five stars, absolutely deserved!
