You could swim with dolphins, but you had to jump from the boat into the water quickly on command in the open sea. I was a bit shocked that children of elementary school age participated without a life jacket. Sure, they could swim very well, but safety should actually come first. Pickup was at 6 a.m., we had also assumed 8 a.m. and you don't get the message until the evening. We were then still able to organize a breakfast package from the hotel; there was only the opportunity to buy something once we were at Casela Park. The park was really run-down and a lot was closed; I thought 30€ admission was a lot for that. But we did enjoy feeding the tortoises.
Who never dreamed of seeing a hundred small boats chasing dolphins? Throw yourself into the water so you can quickly see a fin? Besides the excessive price, it is dangerous, noisy, anxiety-inducing for us and not even to mention the environmental impact of all these boats every morning, as for casela, spend your money elsewhere!
Highlight was seeing the giant tortoises and ostriches. Unfortunately not all facilities were available and we were not advised that you had to book the day before.
Experience to do for strong swimmers and a bit dangerous for children under 10, but unforgettable memories of seeing dolphins so close up
First off our driver was so nice .. the rest of the trip not so much. The “swimming with dolphins” consisted of jumping off a speeding boat into murky water to catch a glimpse of dolphins. The tour was not ALL day, the driver picked us up at our hotel at 7:00am, we didn’t get on the boat until 8:30 and we were taken to Casela (soaking wet) at 10:30. We had to wait in the ticket line for 20 minutes and the tickets were $26 USD a person for basically a zoo. We ate lunch there since there was no mention of taking us somewhere else. We were at our hotel by 1:25pm. I am not at all pleased. The title is very misleading.
Mr Rajan picked us up on time, he was very accommodating, accompanied us all day very well, informed us about Mauritius history and we were lucky, we could see THE Dolphins, although the water was very murky, weather-related.At my place a dolphin swam directly below me and at my girlfriend's place next to her.THIS WAS AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE. MR. RAJAN DRIVES VERY SAFELY AND PLEASANTLY, THEN WE WENT TO CASELA PARK,THE TURTLES WERE ADORABLE AND ALSO ALL THE OTHER ANIMALS. IN THE WHOLE A BEAUTIFUL DAY FULL OF IMPRESSIONS AND A GREAT GUIDE,WOULD BOOK THE TRIP AGAIN.THANK YOU MR RAJAN.
It was a great experience for my sons and me. Great organization and really tried very hard. Dolphins were a great event. Even a baby dolphin was there. The park was also very nice and exactly as described. A really great day!!
Exit by speedboat in Tamarin Bay to Benitier Island. Swam with dolphins and saw whales. Hike absolutely to do, hoping for a good dose of luck.
