Itinerario
Comenzamos nuestro recorrido por Riyadh visitando el principal custodio del patrimonio y la cultura nacional saudita, el Museo Nacional. Hoy es un lugar de aprendizaje y descubrimiento que alberga una colección única de artefactos y cubre toda la historia de la Península Arábiga hasta la era moderna.
Después del Museo Nacional, continuamos hacia el cercano Palacio Murrabba que solía ser la residencia real donde el rey Abdulaziz albergó a su corte. El palacio recibió su nombre por su forma cuadrada de 40 por 40 metros y ahora es uno de los principales museos de la ciudad.
Junto al Palacio Murabba, un edificio moderno alberga una colección de objetos personales del rey Abdulaziz que recorreremos brevemente. Estos lugares están en el corazón del nacimiento de la nación saudita.
visitaremos el Fuerte Masmak que se encuentra a poca distancia del Zoco Antiguo y cuya importancia está ligada a la creación del 3er Reino Saudita, el moderno en el que vivimos. El palacio fortificado fue construido durante el reinado de Abdullah bin Rashid en el año 1895 dC para servir como guarnición militar para el ejército de Abdullah bin Rashid.
Nos dirigiremos a la famosa Kingdom Tower y su Sky Bridge para ver Riyadh desde un mirador panorámico a casi 300 metros sobre la ciudad.

Lugares y horarios de recogida
Inicio del tour: Nuestro tour comenzará a las 08:30 hrs, pero la recogida es de 30 a 60 minutos antes. Recogida: Recogeremos a sus clientes en la mayoría de los principales hoteles de Riyadh. El tiempo de recogida varía entre 1 hora y 30 minutos antes del inicio del recorrido en el punto terminal. Te confirmaremos un día antes a una hora precisa por correo electrónico. Tour guide was just a driver. Hardly any info on the city. He was good at drop off & pick up. We hardly knew much about Riyadh at end of the day.

Moosa was nice and friendly but bad luck all around as the fortress was closed -he didn’t know- the Souq hasn’t much to offer, the king tower inaccessible till 4 pm (tour ended already at lunch time) and to make up the lost time I invited Moosa to join me for lunch which he refused. Ending up me having lunch by myself with a guide sitting in his car outside. He wasn’t hungry but even joining for a drink he couldn’t, disappointing day and the tour operator just drives you to places not really participates. On top of that I paid for 2 as there’s no option paying for just one person.

The guide is taking you to several sights of interest. They will not walk inside of the sights with me. So, they are more of a driver than a guide in the traditional sense. However, it’s a great way to get to see places of relevance in Riyadh. I enjoyed the tour and my conversations in the car.

We were picked up at the hotel on time, which is not a given with the traffic. Visiting the market and the fortress is interesting, although there is not much going on in the market. The museum is made exciting, but the midday meal is a bit of a bust, bland rice and half a chicken, two sauces with it... You can do better than that. Last we visit the Skybridge and enjoy the great view.
