Visita del museo del castillo y alrededores. Caminar a través de la parte central de la ciudad.
La vivienda en el lago Āraiši es un lugar turístico con restos originales y reconstruidos de la prehistoria letona. Es un sitio arqueológico único de importancia nacional con restos del asentamiento fortificado latgaliano de los siglos IX y X. Hoy en día, la vivienda del lago está parcialmente reconstruida y los visitantes pueden ver edificios prehistóricos de madera de Latgalian reconstruidos. Durante las excavaciones se descubrieron restos de 151 construcciones de madera, 3.700 artefactos y alrededor de cien mil fragmentos de cerámica. A partir de datos recopilados, paralelos etnográficos y réplicas de herramientas antiguas, hoy se han reconstruido 14 edificios del primer período de la construcción del asentamiento fortificado. El sitio es miembro de la organización EXARC de museos arqueológicos al aire libre en toda Europa.

We had a great day out. Our driver/guide Ivan’s spoke wonderful English and was very informative. He pointed things out and took us to four additional sites for a few minutes. We had just our group on the tour. Our only learning was we should have brought food as there was no lunch stop on the itinerary.

Amazing trip from start to finish. Our guide/driver Andis touched base with us the day before, confirming pick up. He turned up bang on time and ensured we were comfortable before setting off on an amazing day. Throughout the day Andis took account of my sister's mobility issues, parking as close as possible for drop offs and coming back to collect us. Clear instructions throughout, but no pressure. For lunch Andis suggested a fantastic restaurant which coul not be faulted. A knowledgeable and helpful guide, would happily use his services again in future.
