Itinerario
Partimos de Mascate hacia Nizwa, la antigua capital de Omán. Visita a la famosa Fortaleza de Nizwa. Hoy en día, el for es un museo que muestra la historia del fuerte y sus alrededores. Caminando por la fortaleza se llega a ver unas vistas increíbles de la antigua ciudad y las montañas cercanas. Esta impresionante fortaleza fue una base utilizada por el ejército para contener los ataques y asedios más duros.

Birkat Al Mouz es una pequeña ciudad en wilayat Nizwa en la gobernación de Al Dakhiliyah de Omán. Birkat Al Mouz está ubicado en las estribaciones de Jabal Akhdar, por lo que todos los que van a Jabal Akhdar terminan pasando deben pasar para pasar.
Sistema de riego de Al Kattmyn, uno de los 5 sistemas de riego patrimonio de la UNESCO. Desde allí subimos a Jebel Akhdar. También conocida como la Montaña Verde, Jebel Akhdar alberga muchas plantaciones de frutas y jardines de rosas. Tómate el tiempo para caminar por las colinas y apreciar las vistas del valle.
El Jebel Akhdar o Al Jabal Al Akhdar, es parte de la cordillera de Al Hajar en la gobernación de Ad Dakhiliyah de Omán. Se eleva a una altura de 2980 my abarca la meseta de Saiq a 2000 m sobre el nivel del mar.

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable trip from Muscat to Jebel Akhdar. We were guided by Fauzi, who didn’t only drive but also explained about Oman history and culture. We stopped in some famous spots on the way, such as Nizwa Port, Nizwa souk, Nizwa old village, and Jebel Akhdar view points. Fauzi was knowledgeable and accommodating, made sure we enjoyed our trip. The itinerary was perfectly organized, covering Nizwa Souq, Nizwa Fort, Birkat Al Mouz, and the breathtaking views of Jebel Akhdar. A full day was promised and it was - start at 8.30am and back at nearly 6pm. The drive is 140km and 2 hours each way. Comfortable. A good look at the rather forbidding countryside dotted by villages and towns. On the way an impromptu visit to our guide Ali’s home village with an insight into their life. The Nizwa Fort well worth a visit. Our tour included a visit to several markets - the merchants often welcome our guide with a handshake and a smiling greeting. Very few tourists due no doubt to the war but all very peaceful here. Then up to Jebel Akhdar mountains and a visit to the terraced gardens of olives, pomegranates and roses. Our guide a gentle softly spoken man with quiet humour. A long but satisfying day.

We loved this tour with our 4 year old. Said Al Kiyumi was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. We’re only in Oman for 3 nights so it was great to see some other parts of the country. We would highly recommend. Big thanks for Said!
