Esta animada calle solía hacer la conexión entre el puerto/embarcadero y el centro de la ciudad, pero estuvo abandonada durante bastante tiempo hasta que hace un par de años fue remodelada.
Este mercado fue construido en 1885, y es uno de los mejores ejemplos de arquitectura de hierro y vidrio; aunque se construyó como un mercado, en realidad nunca funcionó como tal.

Teresa was an excellent guide for our tour, she tailored it for our interests and brought her own perspectives to make it a really fun couple of hours. She also gave us some great food recommendations and even showed us other places to go for more murals later. Thank you Teresa!
Our guide Bruno was awesome. He was enthusiastic and fun. It was evident he was very knowledgeable and loved this city. With so many small alley ways and so much to see, it was the perfect way to see the city. Soooo much better with a small group.

Bruno was awesome! This was so much better than being dragged along in a huge group. Bruno was very personable and had a lot of great info about the city, from both modern and historical perspectives. A great introduction to Porto.
Carlos was delightful and showed us parts of Porto we would never have found on our own, including the museum in the old prison, the tile repository and the fabulous bakeries. We enjoyed the views over the water, the train station and the tips on local restaurants and how to get into the Lello bookshop. It was a great first day in Porto!
Carlos was a wonderful tour guide! He is so knowledgeable about Porto- its history and its present. We walked through areas I never would’ve seen if I had been in a car. Highly recommend!!!
It was a delight spending a late Sunday morning with Rosa. She’s insightful and knowledgeable about Porto, through the ages to the present day. We learnt a lot on the ‘Off Beaten Track’ tour of Porto and it differed from the ‘Highlights of Porto’ tour we took on the first day of our trip. We started from a quiet, high up spot, with an unfolding gorgeous view of the river. Rosa lead a peaceful, meandering tour through the tiny, sometimes cobbled, ancient streets, imparting history and stories as we progressed. She covered so many different aspects, from history, social issues, local tales and local people of interest, religion, royalty, architecture etc. She’s even inspired us to do the Pilgrim walk in the future! Rosa’s a calm, intelligent and relaxed, lovely lady who tells and pitches a story very well and without judgement. We were provided with interesting detail and information and given space to make our own judgements and conclusions. Rosa’s an exceptional storyteller and we really appreciated her style. We recommend highly that you take a tour with her. She also kindly gave us ideas about places to go and to eat, which was very generous of her. Thank you so much for the tour, Rosa!
Andre’ was fabulous! He customized my tour to fit my interests. He gave such unique insights into the history of the city. Things that most would not point out. Today was an incredible day due to him! Highly recommend this tour
Very nice walk outside tourist places. It allowed us to discover anecdotes and the living places of the inhabitants of this city. Walk in English with Angelo, very interesting and very attentive guide. He gave us good addresses to taste typical Portuguese food.
