Una de las fortalezas de tierras bajas más grandes de Europa y la última capital serbia antes de la invasión otomana: Smederevo, una de las primeras fortalezas de artillería de Europa, construida por el sultán otomano Bayazit II - Ram, y guardián del Danubio y las Puertas de Hierro - Fortaleza de Golubac que nunca fue conquistada por cualquier ejército te dejará sin palabras. La Fortaleza de Smederevo es una de las fortalezas de tierras bajas más grandes de Europa. Fue construida en 1427 y fue la última capital del reino medieval serbio antes de la invasión otomana a mediados del siglo XV. Con numerosas torres representa perfectamente cómo se construyeron las fortificaciones defensivas.
Construida por el sultán otomano Bayazeed II en una colina en la margen derecha del Danubio, fue una fortaleza estratégicamente muy importante y una de las primeras fortalezas de artillería en Europa.
Conocida como Guardián del Danubio, la fortaleza de Golubac protege la entrada del desfiladero de las Puertas de Hierro. Nunca conquistada por ningún ejército, sólo cambiaba de amo mediante acuerdos políticos. Aprenderá todas las historias detrás de esta magnífica estructura.
Lugar ideal para almorzar mientras contempla el lago y el silencio de la naturaleza.

Excellent full day tour through eastern Serbia visiting some incredible historic sites along the Danube. The itinerary included Smederevo Fortress, Ram Fortress, Golubac Fortress and Silver Lake, and every stop had something completely different to offer. A big positive was that it was a very small group with only four of us plus our driver Igor, which made the whole experience far more relaxed, personal and flexible than a large bus tour. Golubac Fortress was definitely a standout. The location overlooking the Danube is spectacular and the history inside the fortress is fascinating, including the recently opened archaeological areas with Roman remains, Ottoman bathhouses and original Roman bricks stamped by Roman legions nearly 2,000 years ago. We also got to see a live peregrine falcon and owl demonstration inside the fortress which made the experience even more memorable. The food during the trip was outstanding as well. Igor chose an amazing local restaurant with fantastic Serbian food and a beautiful setting, which really added to the experience. Special thanks to our driver Igor who was excellent throughout the entire trip. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable and made the day run smoothly from start to finish. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to explore beyond Belgrade and experience the history and landscapes of Serbia.

If you want to get a picture of the Serbian reality around Belgrade, I would say that this experience is a must.
