First and foremost, we do not advertise or sell this experience as a "skip-the-line" tour. Entry to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is entirely free to the public, and because of this, the Opera del Duomo (the cathedral administration) does not issue or permit "priority" or "skip-the-line" tickets to anyone—regardless of the agency or ticket type. The fee you paid is strictly for the professional services of a licensed, expert guide and the rental of audio gear, which allows you to deeply understand and appreciate the history of the monument. Regarding the scheduling: because entry is free and open to everyone, a single, mandatory security queue forms outside. The reason we ask guests to check in 20 minutes prior to the entry time is to ensure groups are organized, headsets are distributed and tested, and our guide can begin sharing historical context while navigating the security line. The wait time is entirely dependent on the cathedral’s security checks, over which no external agency has control. We are always transparent about what our packages include, and we regret if there was any confusion on your part regarding the public regulations of the Duomo.
