El bosque de manglares de Lac Bay es uno de los bosques de manglares mejor conservados del Caribe. Durante generaciones, este entorno verde y exuberante ha servido como hogar e incubadora para peces nativos, rayas bebé, langostas y caballitos de mar. Los árboles frondosos y hermosos y sus raíces profundas y palmeadas protegen a Bonaire de las condiciones climáticas extremas. ¡Se rumorea que son lo suficientemente fuertes como para resistir el viento y el agua para frenar un tsunami! Mientras conduce hacia el sur hasta los manglares, su guía le informará sobre la historia y los sitios de Bonaire. También tendrá la oportunidad de hacer preguntas y explorar antes de llegar a la hermosa Lac Bay.

Los manglares son una serie de canales angostos cubiertos por cubiertas naturales hechas al doblar los árboles de mangle que albergan pájaros y peces y limpian el agua. Durante siglos, pescadores y turistas han estado visitando, remando en kayak y explorando esta zona de ricas aguas. Históricamente, también proporcionaron los medios para hacer artículos para el hogar y jugaron un papel esencial en la comunidad pesquera, sobre la cual aprenderá en este recorrido.

- Queremos que se sienta como en casa y cómodo en nuestra isla y le recomendamos que traiga lo siguiente para este recorrido:
- 1. Protección solar: protector solar, gafas de sol
- 2. Agua extra
- 3. Vístase cómodamente para clima cálido, soleado y húmedo
- 4. Cámara (¡por supuesto!)
- Antes del tour:
- Huéspedes de hoteles o apartamentos: para la reunión, reúnete con tu guía en la recepción y, si te alojas en un apartamento; su conductor estará en la dirección que proporcionó en la reserva. Su guía llegará a su lugar de recogida 15 minutos antes del inicio de su recorrido para recogerlo. Te avisaremos si hay algún cambio.
- Huéspedes de cruceros: su guía le dará la bienvenida con su nombre o apellido en un cartel frente a la puerta de entrada/salida del crucero donde está atracado su barco. A medida que se aleje de su barco, se acercará a una puerta de control de seguridad. Cuando salga de la puerta, camine hacia adelante y mire hacia adelante. Su guía estará allí 15 minutos antes del inicio de su recorrido para recogerlo. Tenga en cuenta: si su recorrido comienza a las 08:30, su guía lo recogerá 15 minutos (08:15) antes de la hora de inicio de su recorrido.
- Muy IMPORTANTE: Si no ves a tu guía con tu nombre, por favor quédate en la puerta de tu barco y no te alejes y busques a tu guía, deja que tu guía te busque a ti.
- GARANTIZAMOS tenerlo DE VUELTA AL BARCO 1 hora antes de la hora de salida del barco.
- Esta es una visita guiada para grupos pequeños de hasta 7 personas por vehículo. Estarás en una camioneta, automóvil o camioneta compartida, según la cantidad de invitados.
- Nuestros precios incluyen un impuesto gubernamental del 6%.

One must rent a car and tour the entire island. The landscapes are different and magnificent. Exceptional snorkeling

Very bad service, they picked us up in a 4 person car and there was 6 of us , they wanted to cram us in the back and have to climb in and out of it during the tour. It was supposed to be a bus !! My husband hurt his ankle just attempting to get in so we declined unless better transportation was provided, they refused. We did not get to go on our excursion and they are denying refund . Very bad customer relations.
Very interesting excursion! Our guide Nicoline was very friendly and told us interesting history of the area where the flamingos nest. We were fortunate enough to see many of them. I highly recommend this excursion!

Was not very exciting nor informative. Flamingos were far away & the Mangroves are trees you see all over waterways, which I knew but figured why not.
Stan and his friend Ramine(?) took us straight to the flamingos and one to interesting beaches. We saw the salt mines and even got a little sample to take home. Stan gave us lots of details about the island and it’s inhabitants. Originally from the Netherlands, it was interesting to hear his story and great for him to share his vast knowledge about all the kinds of Mangroves. Saw all the salt mines and slave quarters on the beach. Process is very cool!

It all started with us waiting 35 minutes for the guide to appear. We then traveled over the worst roads I’ve ever been on to see mile after mile of mango trees and flamingos which only appeared as pink spots. We traveled the island 5 years ago and had such a wonderful trip-NOT this time. Pick a different trip.
Dear Diana, Thank you for your review and we appreciate it a lot. Sometimes we have traffic jams and therefore we were indeed 35 minutes late and we can not do much about it but we always write to our guests and let them know about the delay. And I do know that on the ship internet is slow and expensive and most guests don't use the internet on the ship or till when they are on shore. But we are doing our best to keep our guests updated. Where the mangrove and the Flamingoes are at Lac Bay are in the NATURE. The road there is from dirt and when it rains the road gets a bit rough. This is something we can not control or change because of its nature. As for the Flamingos, they are also free and in nature. We can not help it that they were not close enough for you to see them. We can not call the flamingoes and tell them to come close so you can see them. it is impossible. This tour is the Flamingo and Mangrove trip and we feel sorry you had this tour right after a very bad rainy period we had on Bonaire. I had a great experience with Ephraim exploring the mangroves of the southern end of Bonaire. He was very knowledgeable and welcoming, and accommodating of my individual interests during the adventure. He was a great representative of Bonaire and of the community and has me excited to return one day soon.
