La Basílica de la Santísima Trinidad es una basílica menor ubicada en el lugar de la Cova da Iria, en la freguesia y ciudad de Fátima. Se trata de una enorme iglesia dedicada a la Santísima Trinidad, perteneciente al complejo del Santuario de Fátima, disponiendo de 8 633 asientos y 40 000 m² de área. El proyecto tuvo autoría del arquitecto griego Alexandros Tombazis. Fue inaugurada el 12 de octubre de 2007 por el Secretario de Estado del Vaticano, Cardenal Tarcisio Bertone, con motivo del 90 aniversario de las apariciones de la Virgen María en Fátima.
El Santuario de Fátima, formalmente titulado la Iglesia Católica y la capilla de Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Fátima, es un santuario mariano dedicado a Nuestra Señora de Fátima, ubicada en el lugar de la Cova da Iria, en la ciudad de Fátima, en el municipio de Ourém, en Portugal . El Santuario de Fátima es, por excelencia, un lugar de peregrinación cristiana y devoción católica, preservando la memoria de los acontecimientos que llevaron a su fundación, en particular las apariciones de Nuestra Señora a los tres pastorcitos - Lucía dos Santos, Francisco y Jacinta Marto - en 1917 Su magnitud y relevancia desde el punto de vista religioso es de muy consensualmente reconocida, nacional e internacionalmente. Por voluntad expresa de la Santa Sede Apostólica, este es un Santuario Nacional. Es también uno de los más importantes santuarios marianos del mundo pertenecientes a la Iglesia Católica y de mayor destino internacional de turismo religioso, recibiendo cerca de seis millones de visitantes al año. El Papa Benedicto XVI ha recordado que el Papa Benedicto XVI ha sido distinguido con tres rosas de oro papales y visitado por los Papas Pablo VI (1967), Juan Pablo II (1982, 1991 y 2000), Benedicto XVI (2010) y Francisco (2017).

I enjoyed the drive and the tour of the factory that supplies Virgin Mary statues and other religious items. Seeing Fatima was an important goal for me while travelling in Portugal. The time provided even though 1 hour 15 minutes - it just isn’t long enough. The driver was great and very pleasant. Just wished we had more time. If you want to enjoy a mass - I think 2 hours is needed.
