El fuerte de Jaisalmer es un centro urbano con vida, con unas 3000 personas viviendo dentro de sus murallas. Está atravesado por estrechas y sinuosas callejuelas, bordeadas de casas y templos, junto con una gran cantidad de tiendas de artesanía, pensiones y restaurantes. Se accede al fuerte desde el este, cerca de Gopa Chowk, y se pasa por cuatro enormes puertas en la ruta en zigzag hacia la sección superior. La última puerta se abre a la plaza que forma el centro del fuerte, Dashera Chowk.
Los templos jainistas son uno de los templos más antiguos de Jaisalmer y se encuentran dentro del complejo del Fuerte de Jaisalmer. Estos templos jainistas son las atracciones religiosas más importantes de Jaisalmer. Hay siete templos jainistas en total, construidos durante los siglos XII y XV d. C. Estos templos jainistas están dedicados a diferentes tirthankars jainistas. Entre estos templos, el más grande es el templo Parsvanath y es el más atractivo; otros son el templo Chandraprabhu, el templo Rishabdev, el templo Shitalnath, el templo Kunthanath y el templo Shantinath.
Este hermoso haveli se encuentra en el corazón de la ciudad en pequeñas calles. Haveli de propiedad privada del siglo XIX conocido por tallas exteriores ornamentadas y arquitectura única.
El pez más grande del estanque de la haveli (residencia tradicional decorada con gran profusión) es Patwa-ki-Haveli, que se alza sobre una calle estrecha y cuya intrincada mampostería parece un encaje de color miel. Dividida en cinco secciones, fue construida entre 1800 y 1860 por cinco hermanos jainistas que hicieron su fortuna con el brocado y la joyería. Todo es muy impresionante desde el exterior; sin embargo, la primera de las cinco secciones, el Museo Patwa-ki-Haveli de Kothari, de propiedad privada, evoca con gran riqueza la vida del siglo XIX y es la única por la que merece la pena pagar la entrada. Otras secciones incluyen dos "museos" de propiedad estatal prácticamente vacíos y dos secciones privadas que contienen tiendas.
El lago Gadi Sagar está situado al sur de la ciudad de Jaisalmer. Gadi Sagar, un lago de agua de lluvia de Jaisalmer, se encuentra en un entorno tranquilo y fresco. Este lago silvestre está rodeado de innumerables templos y santuarios sagrados. El agua de este lago es cristalina. En este lago se pueden practicar deportes acuáticos, como paseos en bote. Contiene el suministro de agua de toda la ciudad. Se pueden ver numerosas aves migratorias revoloteando alrededor del lago. También hay un famoso templo de Krishna construido sobre la puerta de arenisca amarilla.
Los cenotafios que se encuentran aquí son las estructuras más fabulosas de Jaisalmer y una de sus principales atracciones turísticas. Dedicado al sabio Vyas, que escribió el poema épico Mahabharata, Vyas Chhatri tiene hermosos monumentos y es un lugar de cremación para los brahmanes. Los cenotafios de arenisca amarilla están construidos sobre plataformas elevadas, con chhatris de diseño intrincado sobre pilares finamente cincelados. Son un ejemplo sorprendente de la arquitectura de Rajastán. Construidos sobre una colina, se puede ver el Fuerte Dorado de Jaisalmer a lo lejos y fascinantes vistas del atardecer.

It was an amazing day with our guide Marvin to tour Jaisalmer. He was really really knowledgeable and explained everything in details! We visited popular place in Jaisalmer like Fort, Jain Temple and patwon ki haveli. Best part of this tour was a beautiful sunset with large golden fort view. Always smiling and happy to answer our questions! Really recommend this tour!

Jaisalmer is a beautiful place. I took help from DIH for a day tour of the Golden city along with a guide. Mr. Sharma assisted me through the tour. We been to Jaisalmer Fort, Patwo ki haweli, Kuldhara, local market etc. They arranged transport as well as necessary permits. The guide was quite knowledgeable, patient and kind. I had a great experience taking this tour with DIH. I also further took their assistance to get my accommodation and adventure sport services in Sam desert. The stay was comfortable, hygienic with great food. I will surely take their services for my Udaipur and Jodhpur trip as they specialise in Rajasthan tours.

I travelled to Rajasthan for 10 days in Feb 23. It was a family tour across Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer. We got this trip planned by DIH. They managed every single requirement from this trip. Stay, food, travel vehicle, tickets, shopping, hotel etc was managed as per our expectations. I am happy that I tried their services. I am quite satisfied and would recommend it to all who love to travel but don’t want to hustle with the planning of it. They did an amazing job, and helped us the real vibe of Rajasthan which I might have missed if I would have gone through some big travel aggregator platform. Highly recommended.

DIH is a one stop shop for all your travel needs, literally. It was referred to me by one of my friends. So, I thought to try them for a customised travel itinerary. I did a Delhi, Agra and Jaipur tour with them and some of my friends from Canada joined me on this trip. So, we requested for a custom, offbeat trip for ourselves. It was a 10 days road trip and we had the best time of our lives during this trip. We were 7 people and DIH managed all the travel, stay, food, and day visits to monuments. We started from Delhi and were picked up by a traveller vehicle along with a trip manager cum guide and a driver who travelled with us through this trip. Jaisalmer was a beautiful city in Rajasthan. It was a family visit to Jaisalmer. It was a 3 day long trip covering the city and one night at Sam desert. DIH organized my travel tickets, hotel stay and a beautiful camp stay as per my requirement. DIH gave us a guide to visit all monuments in Jaisalmer and he explained everything quite nicely. I loved the whole experience of being on this trip. Payment terms were quite transparent with DIH, you may pay via online transfer, cash, cheque. The booking amount was give 50% at the time of the booking and 100% before leaving from Jaisalmer. I love Rajasthan and cnt wait to come again to explore the other cities.

I did my Jaipur tour with Delightful India Holidays in Jan 2023. It was a great experience overall. They arranged day tour to Amber Palace, Jantar Mantar, Patrika Gate, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Nahargarh Fort. The trip was divided in 4 days as I wanted to visit most of the places and not rush it. DIH arranged my stay in beautiful property in the heart of the town. The best part was the hospitality, people and sanitised accommodation. Rajasthan trip with DIH A friend recommend DIH for travel related bookings. They were know to have travel services across India, however I tried them for Jaisalmer trip. It was a family trip and DIH helped us to prepare a travel plan including best things to explore in the city. They helped us with local guide, vehicle for city travel, hotel, camp bookings. We also enjoyed many adventure activities in the desert 🌵with the help of DIH. The arrangements done by the team was good and well coordinated. I didn't have to worry about anything. Fascinating day trip Jaisalmer city I planned my Jaisalmer trip with the help of DIH team. They were quick to understand my requirements and interest areas while travelling to the city. The day trip in the city was amazing and informative. All thanks to our guide Kamal. We liked their services and did our booking through DIG only. I got amazing property to stay in Jaisalmer city along with a beautiful camp site in the Sam desert. Food at the camp was authentic Rajasthani taste. Camp had various activities which were liked by children like dance, games etc. Highly recommend DIH for making travel arrangements.
