El Santuario de Fátima es, por excelencia, un lugar de peregrinación cristiana y devoción católica, conservando la memoria de los hechos que llevaron a su fundación, a saber, las apariciones de Nuestra Señora de Fátima a los tres pastores - Lúcia dos Santos, Francisco y Jacinta. Marto - en 1917. En este recorrido visitaremos el lugar de Aljustrel, la llamada Aldeia de Valinhos, lugar donde vivían los 3 pastorcitos. Al llegar al santuario, visitaremos la Basílica de Nossa Senhora do Rosário. El edificio, que destaca por su torre de 65 metros de altura, es el lugar donde descansan los restos de los tres pastorcitos. Luego visitaremos la Basílica de la Santísima Trinidad, la más reciente del santuario, y la Capelinha das Aparições donde, con un poco de suerte, tendrás la oportunidad de asistir a una misa. Luego de la visita regresamos a su hotel en Coimbra.

My main purpose of coming to Portugal was to come to Fatima. Our driver/ tour guide Xavier was excellent. He explained the history and significance of Fatima to us.

We had a wonderful trip today. We learned a lot about the country as well as Fátima. There were only 2 of us on the tour so it felt like we had a private tour.

The architecture is beautiful and the space completely preserved. Entry is free! The place is huge so I recommend you arrive early and take 3 hours to enjoy Fatima. Enjoy and visit the wax museum and the interactive museum that is located close to the sanctuary!

Needless to add details about this unique place in the world. I'll write some information that can be useful: behind the Sanctuary there is a large free car park. always behind are available bathrooms also these free. in the perimeter of the sanctuary I did not find places to buy candles, take care to buy them in the country of Fatima. In the Sanctuary you can not light but column to the left of the same where there is a large brazier. The rest is just prayer, faith and for those who are not believers observation of a unique place.

Tour guide arrived on time was extremely informative and helpful. Unfortunately the weather was not the best, it was Pouring Rain. But we still were able to accomplish our goals to the sanctuary, light our candles and buy our souvenirs. Thank You Xavier for your help and conversation. Hope to see you again.

The communication with our tour was excellent. As Catholics it was an important stop for us on our European river cruise. Highly recommend.
