I would not recommend for students travelers on a budget like me. I had a problem with my visa travel money card and running low on cash, so I had to manage to pay for everything with my american express. One fact that turned out to be very difficult in Agra. Since they don't have uber running I searched for online booking of tours. Fragrance of Taj was the best budget tour, for a single person, that I could find. I specifically told that I wanted to see the sunrise at Taj Mahal. First they said they would pick me up at 6 am, then they said 5:30 am pickup. I didn't bothered to actually search for what was the timings. The driver pick me up on time, but by this time the sun was already set. Mr Dinesh (driver) was very polite and friendly. The car was very comfortable and AC was life saving. It's impossible to be disappointed by going to the Taj Mahal but I was really looking forward to actually seeing the sun rising. I had met two more people on the hostel and invited then to come with me. Since I’ve already paid for the hole day tour I asked if they could accompany me and by the end give tips. We met our guide Khan. He is very experienced and has great knowledge of Taj Mahal. It was an incredible Taj Mahal tour. He helped us take pictures and explained the history behind that building. After that, we went to Maya restaurant to have breakfast. One of the person wanted to go back to the hostel and she gave him a 200 rupee tip . I thought it was reasonable since I had already paid for the hole tour, they were already gaining 28 dollars from me. After that we went to the Agra fort. There mr Khan turned out to be very different. He was explaining everything so quickly and was clearly upset. We then went to a marble shop. I needed to withdraw money with my american express card and at that shop would do that for me. He asked for a 10% fare to give me 5000 rupees. For that I am grateful, but only that. The shop owner clearly overpriced everything. I’m talking asking 600 rupees for a small marble pendant. I ended up buying a marble box that I wanted and passed the card to receive the money. Since I was not able to find any amex compatible ATM working on Agra. Mr Khan was still upset and explained that his part was done and that only the driver would continue the tour at afternoon. So I’d say it's an overpriced tour, that expects you to give lots of tips but it was one of the few that accepted american express as payment. If you have money to spare and want comfort riding on a Toyota AC car then it’s the right choice for you.
Hi thank you very much you share your experience on trip advisor ! your review is very impordent for us
It was a wonderful experience to meet India with Fragrance of Taj! Paul adapted my itinerary of the different tours according to my schedule and availability in India. He picked me up at the airport gate and left me at the airport. Besides, he fulfilled everything he promised when we negotiated. The tour guides very kind and nice people. The places to eat were delicious and Paul took care of me at all times in India. My only complaint were the places where they took me to buy souvenirs, it seemed to me that tourist guides take you to expensive places and they do not advise or worry you in those places they charge you much more than normal, I spend in a store in Jaipur that sold me some scarves and in another place they were at half the price. Also in the place of the elephants they initially wanted to charge me $ 450.00, in the end they charged me $ 50.00 but because I claimed. In summary, I recommend Fragance of Taj for your trip to India.
