Pape Tata Ndiye made us feel like VIP adventurers from the beginning of the tour. From hotel pick up, crowd management at the ferry terminal, great seating on the ferry, and the tour of Goree itself was masterfully done. We felt as if we had the island to ourselves. His thorough explanation and discussions of the historic events was top tier. While parts of the tour were heavy, ie Door of No Return, we enjoyed everything that was offered. The trip to the Open Market, several other sites and the African Renaissance Monument was made very memorable. We had a small emergency that Pape was responsive to and assited in alleviating. We highly recommend Pape. Neville and Kim.

I had a fantastic time with Pape. We covered so many areas and points of interest and it did not feel rushed. Pape has almost 30 years guiding experience, and it shows. He knew everyone as well as all the secrets. Highly recommended.

We had an excellent full-day tour of Dakar booked through Viator. Our guide, Ismael, was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the entire day. He was always available to answer our questions and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying the experience. His knowledge of Dakar’s history, culture, and landmarks was outstanding, and he shared fascinating insights that made the tour both informative and enjoyable. The lunch included in the tour, served on Gorée Island, was absolutely delicious, and the included drink was a nice touch. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Dakar. A truly memorable experience from start to finish. 100% recommended!

I had an amazing day tour of Dakar with Ismael. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the rich history of Dakar and the Senegalese people. It was a great experience, and I learned a lot about the culture, history, and traditions of Senegal.
Hi Shawn We are pleased to read your review Ismaila is great ! We invite your colleagues and friends Thank you for your support Pape
Pape, with Visit Senegal, was an excellent guide. He communicated with us immediately after we booked our tour to inform us that we would be a small group (we ended being a group of 8) in a van and that pick-up would be at the pier. When our cruise ship docked in Dakar, he was waiting for us just steps from the gangway. Our tour included a visit to Gorée Island. However, when there was a hiccup with the ferry schedule due to one of the ferries not running, Pape was quick on his feet in securing us a private boat transfer to and from the island. Thanks to Pape’s planning, we were able to visit the Slave Museum before they closed at 12:30. Throughout the entire experience, Pape showed us gracious hospitality and and provided photo tips for framing our pictures from the best vantage points. Pape was also attentive of the time, making sure to get us back to the ship on time—which he did! 🙂 We appreciated Pape’s kindness and professionalism, and it is truly our pleasure to recommend him and Visit Senegal to anyone considering a visit to Dakar.
Hi Chris We were pleased to share these experiences and welcome your friends and colleagues Thank you for your support Pape
Great value for the price. Our tour guide, Lamine, was superb! Dakar and Goree felt quite safe. He led me (63 y/o woman) and 3 young women (26, 29, 29) on a full day tour. It was leisurely and he was both protective and present, yet gave us plenty of license to explore on our own. As a woman, I never felt any fear or aggression from anyone. Lunch is included. Make sure to order the fried fish! Lamine was super knowledgeable and made sure we received good deals in our negotiations with vendors. I will take a tour guided by this company every time that I visit Dakar, if just to catch up over lunch with Lamine! He is now family!
Lamine is excellent he delivered quality service Visit Senegal Tour guide made the difference Experienced and kind We welcome your friends and colleagues
Lamine introduced us to Gorée and Dakar through her eyes, with great generosity, kindness and passion. With my friends, we felt safe from start to finish, which is valuable when you discover a new place. We really enjoyed this day, and even more than we expected. He took us to the island, but also to more hidden places, far from the too touristy circuits. At times, we were alone, as if Dakar were opening a secret door. You could feel that he knew the places, the people, the stories, the small roads, the good addresses... and that made the experience even more authentic. I loved this moment, and I know my friends do too. We felt like we were visiting Senegal with a friend, not just with a guide. This is exactly what makes an experience memorable. We are already looking forward to returning to Senegal and discovering other places with him. Thank you again Lamine, for your kindness, professionalism and beautiful energy. I recommend with my eyes closed.
Encore une fois merci d’avoir choisi nos visites. Lamine est très expérimenté et patient. Nous invitons vos amis et collègues à découvrir le Sénégal des profondeurs Pape
