Adrian was such an incredible guide for myself, aunt, and cousins! He took us to an incredible museum and a few different local restaurants to help acquaint us with all Barranco has to offer. We left the tour stuffed and incredibly happy! I can't recommend Foodies enough, the time flew by :)
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that you, your aunt, and your cousins had such an unforgettable time on our Barranco Art and Food Tour. Adrian will be so happy to hear your kind words—he always loves sharing the very best of Barranco's vibrant art, history, and hidden culinary gems. Knowing that you left the tour stuffed, happy, and feeling like time flew by is the best reward for our entire team. Thank you for recommending Foodies Perú so highly. We would love to welcome you and your family back for another delicious adventure whenever you return to Peru! Warm regards, The Foodies Perú Team
Our tour was supposed to start at 4:00 pm. Only at 3:46 pm did the travel agency send us a message: “Our guide experienced an unexpected personal emergency early this morning, and we will not be able to operate today’s tour as planned.” It ruined our day. It was too late for us to find another tour to fill the time. We flew more than 4,000 miles to Lima en route to Cusco; our time was very valuable. A reputable agency would have handled the situation earlier and better.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry for the frustration and disappointment this situation caused and completely understand how valuable your time in Lima was, especially given the distance you traveled. The cancellation was due to a genuine, unforeseen personal emergency involving our guide. While this is never something we take lightly, we acknowledge that the timing of the notification fell far short of your expectations—and ours. For that, we sincerely apologize. As soon as the situation became clear, we proceeded with a 100% refund, which was sent promptly through Viator. Although this does not make up for the inconvenience, we hope it demonstrates our commitment to acting responsibly and transparently when unexpected situations arise. We appreciate your honest feedback, as it helps us improve our internal protocols to better handle rare emergencies like this in the future. We truly regret that this experience did not reflect the standard of service we strive to provide. Warm regards, Daniel Tello Foodies Perú
This was a great food tour, led by Adrian, who picked us up from our hotel, on time, and took us to the Barranco District to experience the food and local culture of Lima. We visited four restaurants where we had really delicious local foods, including ceviche and barbecued beef on a stick, and a couple of other dishes that I can’t recall the name of. We also had the opportunity to tour the Jade Rivera art museum, which depicts the life of the famous Lima graffiti artist. The art museum was excellent and highly recommended to visit if you are ever in Lima. Part of the tour included a main course dish in a cute restaurant set within a cooperative of stores showcasing high-quality local artisan artifacts (not the usual tourist trinkets). Adrian gave us a great glimpse of life in Lima. We would highly recommend this tour.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 🌟 We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your food tour in Lima with Adrian and had the chance to discover the Barranco District, one of the city’s most artistic and cultural neighborhoods. We’re glad you loved trying authentic Peruvian food such as ceviche and anticuchos (barbecued beef on a stick), along with other traditional dishes. Our goal is always to give travelers a taste of the real Lima, beyond the touristy spots, combining gastronomy, history, and local culture. It’s great to know you also enjoyed the visit to the Jade Rivera Museum, where street art and Lima’s urban culture come alive, and that the stop at the artisan collective gave you a chance to see unique Peruvian handicrafts. For travelers looking for things to do in Lima, our experiences include not only food tours in Barranco, but also gastronomic tours in Miraflores, Surquillo, and the Historic Center of Lima, as well as wine and cheese tastings and ceviche & pisco sour classes. Thank you again for recommending us — we hope to welcome you (or your friends) on another top-rated Lima food experience soon! 🇵🇪✨
We wanted to explore the artsy and bohemian Barranco district and also taste the delicious Peruvian food that we’ve heard so much about. This tour was a perfect match for our needs. We were picked up at our hotel by Daniel and driven to our first stop, Cevicheria Terminal Pesquero where we enjoyed a squid ceviche with corn fritters (tortitas de choclo)..absolutely delicious! Next, we walked to Sofá Café where we had creamy tacu tacu (peruvian rice and bean cake) topped with sautéed shrimp. From there we walked through beautiful streets, to a local art museum featuring the works of graffiti artist Jade Rivera. The docent was a lovely young woman whose name I forget. We loved her commentary, and her delightful manner. After that, we went to Dédalo Art Gallery and Café, an art collective where you could browse works for sale and also enjoy the next item on our food journey – pastel de choclo (sweet corn pie). Our next stop was the Bridge of Sighs, where we held our breath as we crossed it and made a wish. Hope it comes true! At the other end was Tio Mario where we had anticucuhos (grilled beef hearts!) with various sauces. By this time, we were stuffed, but somehow found room in our tummies for dessert-freshly made picarones (Peruvian doughnuts) with syrup. These were delicious! We were picked up by our driver and escorted back to the hotel by Daniel. Along the way, we had wonderful conversation with Daniel, who was very knowledgeable and considerate. This tour was a win!
Absolutely thrilled to read your review – thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! 🌟 Our “Barranco Art & Food Tour” was created exactly for travelers like you—curious, adventurous, and looking to connect with the bohemian soul of Lima while tasting some of the best Peruvian dishes. 🇵🇪✨ From the squid ceviche and corn fritters at Terminal Pesquero, to the creamy tacu tacu with shrimp at Sofá Café, and the freshly made picarones to end the day on a sweet note—you truly tasted some of the most iconic local flavors! 😋 We’re so glad you enjoyed the visits to Jade Rivera’s museum and Dédalo Gallery, and of course, the stories and conversation with Daniel, who loves making every guest feel at home. The Bridge of Sighs moment is a special one—we hope your wish comes true! 🌉💫 We truly hope to hear from you again soon—whether it’s for another tour or just to say hello. ¡Hasta pronto! 😊
We booked this tour one day in advance and were happy Daniel had time to accommodate us. We were the only two on the tour, which was in the Barranco neighborhood. To be transparent about what the tour consisted of, it didn’t include street graffiti or 20 tastings. That being said, we thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Daniel. He took us to 5 restaurants where we could sit down at tables and enjoy great local food. After the second restaurant, we went through the Jade Rivera museum where we were given an overview of the artist’s work by a museum employee. The third restaurant was in an art collective where we had time to browse local artisans’ work for sale. A small section of the collective sold alcohol and with Daniel’s assistance, we were able to taste and buy two bottles of Pisco to bring home! The last restaurant was at a lovely dessert restaurant owned by a local pastry chef. All the food we tasted was EXCELLENT and we thoroughly enjoyed it all because in all our time in Lima and Cusco, we had only had one of the foods on this tour, which was ceviche. So everything was new to us and very different than the other foods we’d had during our trip. We considered everything “local comfort food” and we’d go back to any of these restaurants again by ourselves. To comment on Daniel- he makes the whole experience very fun. He is completely disarming and and extremely knowledgeable about Peru and many other countries as he has traveled internationally. He converses easily and shows wonderful interest in his clients. He paced the restaurants nicely and the walking was all on level ground in beautiful Barranco. There were restrooms at every restaurant and Daniel was very thoughtful about asking us if we needed to use them at each stop. We hadn’t seen this neighborhood so we were happy to take it in. It’s very clean and pretty with beautiful buildings, lots of greenery, and flowers. The restaurants were uniquely decorated and fun to see. Definitely a low key, fun way to see Barranco and eat some great food!
Hola Roberto and Beth! Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such a great time with Daniel and that you enjoyed discovering new flavors and hidden culinary gems in Barranco. Since Sundays tend to be busier in many of the restaurants we visit, we made some adjustments to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for you. We also noticed you were feeling a bit tired, so we adapted the itinerary by minimizing the walking portion and focusing on the delicious food and cultural highlights of the neighborhood. Our goal is always to create an experience that feels effortless and enjoyable for our guests. We truly appreciate your kind words about Daniel—his passion for Peruvian culture and cuisine is something we love sharing, and we’re so happy to hear that his knowledge and enthusiasm made your tour even more special. It’s also wonderful to know that you discovered new local dishes that enriched your culinary journey through Peru! Thank you for choosing us to be part of your trip to Lima. We’d love to welcome you again in the future for another unforgettable food adventure! Foodies Perú Team

This tour was amazing! If you are looking for a tour that combines arts, history, culture, and amazing amazing food. This is the one. The value is wonderful. The tour guide and all staff are so kind, so accommodating, and so thoughtful about every single stop. You never feel rushed. It happened to be my birthday and they really went above and beyond and out of their way. My God Daniel was the absolute best. We had wonderful conversation, he explained everything, at each stop there was delicious food, or art or history to learn. From the Tacu Tacu to the Jade Rivera Gallery to the Beverages to the street art and historical sites I could not have asked for more. Please do not hesitate to book this tour. I really can’t say enough. He took tons of amazing photos so that I could concentrate on soaking up all the information and he obviously had good relationships with every location. We stopped at. I mean, he even went out of his way to help me find elevation sickness, pills for my next day trip to Machu Picchu. It was one of the best way I’ve ever had and I’ve been using Viator for years in countries, all around the world. The food portions were so plentiful. It was not just a tour. It was an experience, and I felt like I was being treated so wonderfully every step of the way.
