We had the most amazing safari with our guide and driver Shen and could not recommend him more! From the moment we met him, it was obvious that he genuinely cared about giving us the best possible experience. Rather than taking us to one of the busier parks, he recommended Kaudulla National Park—and it was the best decision. We saw only one other jeep for almost the entire 3 hours we were there, which was incredible after knowing how many jeeps are lining up at other parks! The wildlife exceeded every expectation. We saw well over 100 elephants, including many babies. Shen pointed out to us a 2-day old baby elephant whose umbilical cord was still attached. He taught us many facts about elephant pregnancy and life once they are born which was truly fascinating. We were travelling with our 8-month-old and 2-year-old, and Shen went above and beyond to make the safari comfortable for all of us. He drove carefully and smoothly throughout the entire trip, which gave us complete peace of mind. He thoughtfully arranged the seats so our family could all sit facing each other, while also making it easy to turn them outwards for the best wildlife viewing. He even adjusted the jeep so that half the roof remained shaded, creating the perfect place for our baby to nap, while the rest of us could stand comfortably to get amazing views of the elephants. It was such a clever setup and showed how much thought he put into our family's needs – nothing was a bother for him. Our two-year-old had what felt like hundreds of questions, and Shen answered every single one with endless patience and enthusiasm. His knowledge of the elephants, monkeys and birdlife was incredible, and we all learnt so much throughout the day.On top of that, his jeep was immaculately clean, he provided cold bottled water and biscuits, and he was professional, friendly and organised from start to finish. Our safari with Shen was an absolute highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka. Our son has not stopped talking about all the elephants he saw and it would not have been possible without such a knowledgeable and accommodating guide.

My guide, Chametha, was the perfect combination of light-hearted and knowledgeable. He was often ahead of the curve such as finding fabulous quiet spots to soak up the energy, the vastness, beauty and of course the elephants before other jeeps arrived. He was in constant contact with others who shared any special opportunities to view, for example, a baby elephant nursing from its mama. I loved the trees sat within the lake which were great for bird watching,. There was a viewing tower overlooking a small lake and nearby able to witness two mamas and a baby spraying the cooling wet mud. The tower provided a real sense of this vast 250,000 hectare safari park. I think my guide was simply super, company responded quickly, and overall an unforgettable experience,

What an afternoon! Unbelievable experience for me and my family of four (11,16 year olds). Shen is a fantastic guide. He stopped and explained many things and he also had patience to wait. We saw a few elephants in the beginning of the tour which was great and some more towards what we thought was the end. When everybody were leaving at 5:00pm we stayed behind and had a remarkable last one hour. We saw a total of over 40 elephants and had a few fantastic encounters at the end at dawn when we saw a herd of 20+ elephants including a less than one month baby. We saw a single male bull in the middle of the road and another family of six just the last few minutes causing a major but never forgotten delay! Thanks Shen for an amazing trip we will never forget! I cannot recommend enough. Do it!

We had an incredible tour. Our guide, Chamita, was so friendly and informative and seemed passionate that we had a great experience. We were able to see so many elephants, bathing in the lakes, shading in the forest and playing together. Being picked up and dropped off at our hotel in Sigiriya made it such a convenient trip too. Shen safari also were very responsive on WhatsApp making sure that we had everything in order for our pickup.

Highly recommend this tour, we had a fabulous time with our informative & knowledgable guide Shenu. Before departure we discussed the National Parks and what we wanted from the day and he adapted the trip based on his local knowledge to meet our needs. We saw an abundance of elephants in his very comfortable jeep. He knew exactly where they had migrated to. Very considerate to the wild mammal, kept his distance, switched off the engine and knew when to move on and give them back their space & privacy. He picked us up promptly from our hotel and on they way back pulled up and surprised us with a much needed refreshment of coconut milk & fresh fruit. Tim & Lou - 16/9/2025
