Escápate de la ciudad por una mañana y descubre el corazón espiritual y natural de Cataluña : la montaña y el monasterio de Montserrat. Con esta excursión de medio día, viajarás desde Barcelona en un autobús privado con aire acondicionado guiado por un experto oficial local, listo para compartir las leyendas y la historia de uno de los santuarios más emblemáticos de España. La salida es por la mañana desde la Estación de Francia, con la llegada a Montserrat que le permite el acceso temprano al monasterio antes de las horas más concurridas del día. Después de una visita guiada de 45 minutos por la basílica y el monasterio (con una vista cercana de la famosa Virgen Negra, La Moreneta), tendrá 2 horas de tiempo libre para visitar el museo, probar el licor casero del monasterio, caminar hasta el mirador de la Cruz de San Miguel o tomar el funicular de Sant Joan hasta la cima de la montaña. Regreso a Barcelona en el mismo autobús privado, con llegada a la Estación de Francia a primera hora de la tarde, dejando el resto del día libre para disfrutar de la ciudad.

Montserrat es un monasterio situado en lo alto de una montaña rocosa inusual. Es el punto más alto de las tierras bajas catalanas. Monasterio de Montserrat alberga “la Moreneta”, también llamada Virgen Negra. La leyenda dice que los monjes benedictinos encontraron la estatua, y no pudieron mover la estatua para construir su monasterio, por lo que decidieron construirla alrededor de la estatua. Montserrat fue designada Parque Nacional en 1987. Hoy en día, es un lugar de peregrinación para personas de todo el mundo. Una vez en Montserrat, disfrute de una visita guiada en grupo pequeño de 45 minutos, y luego tendrá 2 horas para explorar por su cuenta. Podrás visitar el Museo, degustar el licor casero del monasterio, caminar hasta la cruz de San Miguel para disfrutar de un increíble mirador, subir al Funicular de Sant Joan, tomar maravillosas fotos, comprar productos locales en el mercado de agricultores y mucho más.
El origen del monasterio es incierto, pero se cree que la Virgen de Monsterrat (La Moreneta) fue encontrada hacia el año 880. Los tours de 8.30 y 13.30 incluyen entradas a La Moreneta. Según las leyendas, los monjes construyeron el monasterio alrededor de la estatua. El monasterio sigue funcionando hasta el día de hoy con más de 70 monjes. La basílica de Montserrat comenzó su construcción en el siglo XVI, y ahora alberga un museo de arte. También es el lugar donde la Escolania, uno de los coros de niños más antiguos de Europa, actúa durante ceremonias religiosas (puedes escucharlos en la gira de las 9.30 am).
En su tiempo libre, puede visitar el museo de Montserrat, que alberga seis colecciones de arte permanentes y dos temporales. Encontrarás piezas de artistas famosos como Picasso, Dalí, Caravaggio, y también artistas desconocidos pero talentosos.
En su tiempo libre, tome el funicular y disfrute de la vista panorámica de la montaña. El funicular ofrece una vista del monasterio, así como las impresionantes vistas desde los Pirineos. En la parte superior, también se puede visitar Aula de Natura, donde aprenderá sobre la historia, flora y fauna de la montaña.
La Virgen Negra de Montserrat, venerada estatua de la Virgen María del siglo XII y símbolo de Cataluña, se encuentra dentro de la Basílica de Montserrat. Incluido en la opción que especifica la visita a la Virgen Negra.

The Monastery is very small, so spending 4-5 hours there was a little absurd. Our tour guide also made us stand in the blazing sun multiple times while he told us his view on Christianity and how the world was created. He would not let us leave and do our own free time. He spent probably a total of an hour, 20 minute rants three times in the sun. He also wasn’t very nice. We asked if we could get a meeting point to do our own thing and he said no we had to wait and would not tell us a meeting point or time.

This was a great tour! Aaron and Francesco were fantastic guides. Super knowledgeable and friendly! Pick up for the bus outside the train station is super easy, just wait at the entrance and they will find you. The bus ride is beautiful up the Montserrat. This is definitely worth taking your time to take a day trip from Barcelona. Highly recommend booking the tour to be able to see and touch the Black Madonna icon, and leave some time to use the funicular to hike around the higher elevations!

Great tour. Guides were on time, thoughtful, kind, and helpful. My only suggestion would be to add some additional historical detail about the monastery and Black Madonna. I would have also appreciated maybe some additional explanation about the inside of the monastery itself. Still, overall wonderful tour!
