Belém es uno de los ex libris de la capital portuguesa, el lugar desde donde los marineros del siglo XVI iniciaron sus viajes al nuevo mundo. Este recorrido comienza con un viaje en tranvía e incluye visitas guiadas al Monasterio de los Jerónimos, el Museo de Carruajes y el Monumento a los Descubridores (exterior).

El Museo Nacional de Entrenadores reúne una colección única de entrenadores en el mundo. De los siglos XVI al XIX, aquí se encuentran algunos de los entrenadores más antiguos del mundo.
Clasificado por la Unesco como Patrimonio de la Humanidad. El Monasterio de los Jerónimos es uno de los logros de la arquitectura portuguesa y europea de su tiempo, afirmando al mismo tiempo, la singularidad de su propia expresión artística, la arquitectura manuelina, y su inscripción en el patio trasero gótico internacional. Este gran edificio religioso se asoció históricamente con los primeros navegantes como exploradores porque fue desde aquí que los navegantes portugueses comenzaron su viaje hacia el nuevo mundo.
Con 52 metros de altura, el Monumento a los Descubrimientos es un homenaje a todos los portugueses que participaron en la gran travesía marítima de los siglos XV y XVI.
La pastelería de Belém es donde se pueden degustar los pasteles más famosos del país. Inaugurada en 1837, recrea todos los días la repostería de Belém siguiendo una receta antigua del Monasterio de los Jerónimos. Una de las grandes maravillas culinarias de Portugal, el pastel de nata espolvoreado con canela (pastel de natillas), con su corteza escamosa y su centro cremoso.

Half a day in the area of Bethlehem with a lot to appreciate and learn from the Alcides. Visit to the new museum of the Coches, priority entry to the pastels of Bethlehem and visit to the monastery of Jerónimos.
This is our First time to Portugal and Alcides was an Amazing tour guide. His knowledge of gothic and classical architecture, the names of the architects and the general knowledge of the city's history made the Belem experience one of the highlights of our Vacation. We also got VIP treatment at Pastéis de Belem and got to skip ahead in the line for pastries and coffee! The Coach Museum was also a unique experience and definitely worth the visit. I also rather enjoyed the trip back to the hotel through the narrow streets of Chiado. His maneuvering of the person passenger van was rather skillful and impressive! We are coming back through Lisbon at the end of our Vacation and may call Alcides to schedule a trip to Fatima and Nazaré. All in all a 5 star rating
Alcido our tour guide is fantastic. we board a tram so we truly experienced Lisbon! the cathedral is beautiful beyond words and he expertly described the details and history. The Belem pastry at Belem pasteria is excellent and part of our tour! Yummy. do not miss this! the Coach Museum with antigue carriage coaches is impressive - any car enthusiast and non-car enthusiast would love this museum.
The tour was wonderful, Portugal is beautiful, my guide Mr. Alcides flower was impeccable, very experienced and kind made our stay unforgettable. The highlight was the Pastel of Bethlehem in Bethlehem, there is no better in the world...
