Excursión a la Ruta del Sillar con Caminata en Culebrillas

Aqui se encuentran las canteras de sillar que pintan de blanco la ciudad de Arequipa. Si bien la zona es conocida porque aquí se trabaja la materia prima de la arquitectura de la Ciudad Blanca, la piedra volcánica, también reúne algunos de los paisajes naturales más hermosos e imponentes de la zona. Al seguir la Ruta del Sillar se puede observar el proceso de extracción, labrado y mega tallado del sillar, piedra de color albo que predomina en la arquitectura tradicional de la ciudad de Arequipa. Esta ruta cuenta con la infraestructura necesaria y servicios turísticos de calidad para considerarla dentro de los principales atractivos de la región. Entre las principales actividades que se pueden realizar en el lugar están los talleres de interpretación, con presencia de cortadores de sillar.

Haremos una parada en una plaza o punto principal como introducción para apreciar los volcanes y la Campiña Arequipeña, luego de un breve tiempo nos dirigiremos hacia la Ruta del Sillar donde están los atractivos principales

Aquí se conocerá el proceso de extracción. Ademas de apreciar los diversos tallados. Al seguir la Ruta del Sillar se puede observar el proceso de extracción, labrado y mega tallado del sillar, piedra de color albo que predomina en la arquitectura tradicional de la ciudad de Arequipa. Esta ruta cuenta con la infraestructura necesaria y servicios turísticos de calidad para considerarla dentro de los principales atractivos de la región. Aquí en este punto es donde se conoce todos los trabajos artísticos a base del Sillar que se han hecho hasta el día de hoy. El trayecto en movilidad es 30 minutos aproximadamente hasta llegar al punto principal y el mismo tiempo para el retorno.
Un Cañón en forma natural compuesto del Sillar Rosado, una autentica creación de la naturaleza por donde caminaremos con sumo cuidado para visitar el origen de la formación del sillar. Para llegar hasta el punto haremos un trayecto de 30 minutos en la ida y 30 minutos en el retorno aproximadamente desde las Canteras de Añashuayco. Adicionalmente la caminata dentro de la quebrada tiene una duración de 25 minutos aproximadamente, en el trayecto tendremos impresionantes vistas del sillar rosado.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Very disappointing experience. Just 15 minutes before our activity was due to start, it was cancelled. That's incredibly unprofessional, especially if you've planned your whole day on this. It was immediately promised that the full amount would be refunded, but to date this has not happened. In addition, the company no longer responds to anything. Through WhatsApp and other contact options, messages remain unanswered. A cancellation can happen, but the way it has been handled is unacceptable. Poor communication, an unfulfilled repayment promise and then being completely unreachable. I would absolutely not recommend this company.

It was a worthwhile excursion - very good value for the price & it was very interesting to see the quarry & to do the canyon walk. Disappointed though that we did not see any cutting or carving actually happening when we were there. I think it should also be highlighted that GOOD MOBILITY is needed for the walk. There are some big steps & rocks to navigate, and a steep ramp at the end to exit the walk.
Mixup in pickup location. They sent wrong address and communication did not resolve. Eventually we got to correct spot. Van was a stifling oven. Still interesting especially the walk through slot canyon

The place was nice but I feel the tour guide was a bit in a rush. Also, I asked for English tour and they had to arrange someone else last minute. Make sure to contact them before your tour. Other tours, the agency contacted me.

Took the afternoon session. Went to the stated pickup place which was a closed tour office. 15 mins before the start time received WhatsApp from the tour provider asked to meet at another place. Then received another unknown person WhatsApp message to meet at a different place. WhatsApp the tour provider what’s happening, didn’t reply in time. Met with the unknown person who had our names on her list. She stated that we were changed to another tour provider. Despite of the pick up confusion, nice walk in Culebrillas, reminded me of Antelopes in USA.
