Este recorrido especial fue diseñado para acomodar a aquellos interesados en las antiguas batallas griegas, aquellos que quieran descubrir dos grandes campos de batalla de las guerras persas, el avión de Maratón y las Termópilas.

Uno de nuestros tours favoritos, este está dedicado a aquellos que cayeron en nombre de la libertad. Este tour especial fue diseñado para acomodar a aquellos interesados en las batallas griegas antiguas, aquellos que quieren descubrir dos grandes campos de batalla de las guerras persas, el avión de Marathon y Thermopylyae. Saliendo de Atenas hacia la llanura sagrada de Marathon conduciendo por Attica Highway y Marathon Avenue. Este es el recorrido de la Marathon Race original, como verás por las señales que cuentan cada kilómetro. Posteriormente llegaremos al Túmulo de los Atenienses; el sitio retrata el coraje, la valentía y finalmente la victoria de los atenienses contra los persas en 490 a. C.
Continuando, también veremos el Marathon Battlefield, su Museo Arqueológico y un cementerio prehistórico que produce pruebas de la primera presencia civilizada en este lugar.
Conduciendo por la actual ciudad de Marathon, nuestra última parada en esta área seremos el Lago Marathon, en las laderas del Monte Penteli. Es un lago artificial que funciona como el principal depósito de agua de Atenas en el pasado y su presa, una gran construcción mecánica de principios del siglo XX.
A continuación, volveremos a bordo para conducir a las Termópilas. Fue aquí que 10 años después de la Batalla de Maratón, el Rey Leonidas y sus 300 valientes espartanos enfrentaron heroicamente al ejército persa. En el centro histórico, se mostrará una agradable película en 3D.
Como si viajaras a través del tiempo sentirás la presencia de héroes que se mantuvieron firmes por su libertad contra un conquistador extranjero. Para concluir, visitará la estatua de Leonidas, exactamente frente a la colina de Kolonos, donde los espartanos persistentes dejaron su último aliento.
Conducir por las aguas termales
Camina por el campo de batalla de las Termopolas.
De regreso a Atenas, nos detendremos en la ciudad costera de Kammena Vourla, donde disfrutaremos de un almuerzo relajante y tradicional griego junto al mar. Y para finalizar el recorrido, volveremos a Atenas sanos y salvos.

I highly recommend this trip. It was absolutely worth the price. Our guide, Giannis, was very friendly and very knowledgeable about both the military and cultural history of Greece. I consider myself fairly well-read on Greek history, but I still learned new things. We went on three different private tours with three different tour companies during our trip, and while this was the most expensive one, it was hands down the best. I'll never forget seeing Marathon from up high and resting my legs in the same hot springs the Spartans once used. If you're a history buff this tour is definitely worth it.

Andreas Was a very good driver and showed a lot of energy in sharing the rich cultural history of ancient Greece. A local Athenian, he drove impeccably throughout a very congested city. He went out of his way to make sure we saw everything that could be seen in both the marathon and Thermopholie areas. He treated us like family and we’d be happy to go on another tour with him again.

We did 2 day tours ( Marathon, Thermopylae and Olimpia tour) and one 2 day tour (Sparta, Mystras- Monovasia) with the company. All the tours were perfectly organised, professional and interesting.
