Al ingresar al sitio, verá el templo dominante de Poseidón, el antiguo dios griego del mar, rodeado de restos de fornicaciones, la puerta de entrada (pórticos) y las casas. Muy cerca también se ven los restos del templo de Athena Souniada. Además de su ubicación única y su interés arqueológico, Cape Sounio también es famoso por su impresionante puesta de sol y la vista de las islas griegas. Es considerado uno de los lugares más románticos de Grecia.

The experience was amazing! Panos was very knowledgeable about both the history and mythology. I had 2 daughters with me, 8 yo and 12 yo. He was able to keep them engaged. Of course the temple of Poseidon was an incredible site that was a must-see after the acropolis. On the way back he stopped at one of the villages and we had an amazing authentic Greek dinner at a restaurant on the sea with the waves lapping at the ground about 2 meters from my toes. This was our second tour with Panos and he takes extra time to get to know you and connect with you!

Great trip. Terry was our driver and knows a ton about Greek history and the history of the area & temple specifically. He was very accommodating and made the tour very relaxing. We got lucky and had the temple to ourselves, it’s a very beautiful area and cool to see. As is the lake we stopped at on the way. When we come back to Greece there are other tours I want to do and we’ll be requesting Terry for them.

The drive along the coast to Poseidon’s Temple is a must do. We have dinner at the tavern by the bay looking at the Temple and watching the sunset. It was spectacular. Our driver Manos was the best!
