By knowing the time of day certain sites get busier, Alun did his best to get us to those sites as early as possible. He also pulled us aside many times to get away from any other noise from other groups. He has a unique way of speaking in a quiet tone when delivering a somber message. He gave us a preview of some sites before we went in while he stayed outside to avoid overcrowding. He gave us plenty of time to tour the museum and gave us suggestions on how to tour it

Alun led my husband and I, along with our two teenage sons, on a tour of Dachau. Alun was a wonderful tour guide! We all learned so much, and Alun did the perfect balance of sharing lots of information, as well as letting us experience a few of the sights and the museum on our own. He handled this difficult topic gently, knowledgeably, and respectfully. We would highly recommend you choose Alun as your guide!

Alun conducted a well-organized tour of the Dachau camp. It included train and bus transport from Munich to Dachau and back. Alun is a master of the story of Dachau, before, during, and after WWII. His personable presentation was clear and informative for our small group of ten. He answered every question with facts and references. Alun paid attention to the interests and questions of every member of the group. The cost of the tour was well worth it considering the attention to transportation details and commentary. Take this tour. You won't forget it.

Alun Evan was top notch in his approach to the perspectives of Dauchau from the intellectual processes/manipulation of the SS to the humane perspectives of those murdered, tortured and surviving. Key words that he left me with….ALWAYS THINK! Situations can change quickly as they did in 1933.

Really informative trip. Alun was perfect guide - gave plenty of information but not overpowering. We are not history buffs and we felt this tour covered enough detail and sensitive subjects were dealt with well. Would recommend.

We did the guided tour of Dachau with Alun departing from Marienplatz in central Munich. Alun was a fantastic guide, very friendly and really knowledgable. We learnt a lot and Alun was the perfect mix of giving us information and also letting us wander around to visit the museum section at our leisure. He was very kind and thoughtful as there were a few older guests on the tour and he made sure we took our time so that everyone was at a comfortable pace. He treated the subject matter very sensitively and advised us of the etiquette ahead of entering the memorial site. Excellent tour and a brilliant guide. Thanks Alun. Alun did an amazing job creating an organized, efficient and interesting tour of Dachau. We left the Munich station and headed towards the concentration camp site. He kept us informed the entire way. It was so easy. We did not have to worry about train tickets or bus tickets. Once we got to the camp, he explained how Germany ended up electing Adolf Hitler. He gave us lots of interesting facts about Dachau. We walked around the entire camp for about two hours. I had been there before so it was so much better having Alun with us. I learned a lot more! The last hour of the tour you spend going through the museum and the barracks on your own. I would highly recommend his tour! I believe he has several other tours to choose from and I wouldn’t hesitate to go on any tour with him at any point during your vacation! He is outstanding!
