En este tour especial, saldremos de Siem Reap al templo de Preah Vihear en la provincia de Preah Vihear. Preah Vihear se construyó en la cima de un acantilado de 525 metros entre Camboya y la frontera con Tailandia. Da la mejor vista de bosques y pueblos. Después de visitar el templo de Preah Vihear, nos dirigiremos al grupo del templo de Koh Ker. El templo más famoso de Koh Ker es Prasat Thom, un templo con una forma de pirámide de 30 m de altura, que se alza sobre la llanura y el bosque circundante. Finalmente, iremos a Beng Mealea que significa Lotus Pond en inglés. Se cree que el templo es la hermana de Angkor Wat por su modelo similar. El templo está en gran parte sin restaurar, con grandes árboles y pincel grueso que crece en la parte superior de la torre. Cuando el tour haya terminado, lo llevaremos de regreso a su hotel o cualquier otro lugar en la ciudad de Siem Reap.

Koh Ker Group, ubicado en la provincia de Preah Vihear, fue brevemente la capital del imperio Khmer entre 928 y 944 bajo el rey Jayavarman IV y su hijo Hasavaraman II. Después de que se estableció el imperio Khmer en el área de Angkor (Roluos), Jayavarman IV movió la capital en 928 casi 100 km al noreste de Koh Ker. Aquí se construyeron una gran cantidad de templos bajo su reinado, hasta que su sucesor regresó a la zona de Angkor unos veinte años después. El sitio de Koh Ker está dominado por Prasat Thom, una montaña de templo de 30 metros de altura que se eleva por encima de la llanura y el bosque circundante. Grandes vistas esperan al visitante al final de una escalada de aventura. Garuda, tallado en los bloques de piedra, todavía guarda la parte superior, aunque ahora están parcialmente cubiertos. Templo de Beng Mealea (su nombre significa "estanque de lotos") ubicado al pie de la montaña Kulen. Fue construido como templo hinduista, pero hay algunas tallas que representan motivos budistas. Su material principal es la arenisca y está en gran parte sin restaurar, con árboles y arbustos gruesos que prosperan en medio de sus torres y patios y muchas de sus piedras yacen en grandes montones. Durante años fue difícil de alcanzar, pero una carretera recientemente construida para el complejo del templo de Koh Ker pasa por Beng Mealea y más visitantes están llegando al sitio. Construido en el siglo XII, muchos estudiosos creen que fue el modelo para Angkor Wat. Es igual de maravilloso que un templo, pero todavía está perdido en gran parte en la selva. Regrese a su hotel y finalice el recorrido entre las 5:00 p.m. y las 6:00 p.m.

We had booked a private tour to Ko Ker and Beng Mealea. Due to the border disputes we were unfortunately unable to visit Preah Vihear. Nevertheless, thanks to the tour guide Youk and our driver San, we had a very eventful and very informative day. Our tour guide always knew about the best photo subjects and took great photos. Our driver provided us all day with cool drinks and cold towels; great service. Big compliments and thanks to both, they did a great job and brought us closer to their country and culture. We can highly recommend both.
Thean was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. It was a long day, but he really tied in the history to make the sights make more sense. Excellent job and the driver, Sreang, was super great too!
First of all, don't make the same mistake I did. Just because Angkor Wat takes credit cards, doesn't mean that Preah Vihear or Koh Ker do. Cash is required! Thankfully my guide was able to help me get that situation sorted, otherwise it would have been a terrible day. As it was, the temples were amazing and our guide, Saruon Pal, was knowledgeable and engaging and helped make it one of the most memorable days of our trip.
Amazing day visiting Preah Vihear - a temple on a Cambodia-Thailand border, inscribed onto UNESCO World Heritage List. Plus two other temples located at a distance from Angkor area. Bun Hak is a great guide. We learnt from him a lot on Cambodian ancient and recent history, contemporary politics and culture. He also showed us a great number of hidden treasures in the temples that we visited- we wouldn’t be able to find them without him. The trip truly exceeded our expectations. Ancient and very recent history (Preah Vihear); Mayan-like pyramid (Koh Ker) and one of the most beautiful and climatic temples in the jungle (Beng Mealea). It all of that just in one day. Don’t just sit in Siem Reap and it’s vicinity. Go to the neighbouring provinces and discover the beauty of Cambodia beyond Angkor.
We are a Japanese/Italian couple on their honeymoon. The three temples we visited were all stunning, I really couldn’t say which one I liked the most. Preah Vihear is definitely worth waking up early and the long drive to the border with Thailand for the magnificent scenery. Our driver and tour guide, BunHak, were really kind and very knowledgeable about the history and temples of Cambodia. He was happy to answer all our questions and show us the best places to take pictures. Thank you very much, I hope to meet you again someday!
Saruon was the best guide ever and his English was so perfect. He was also a very skilled photographer. Soeang was our driver and his driving was so smooth and steady so we had a really comfortable ride all day. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who got come to Siem Reap. Cheers!
Mr Pal and the driver were so kind! Pal-san was funny, explained in detail and took a lot of photos. He came to the front of the hotel at 5am, where we met again in the morning, and arrived at the ruins at 8am as planned! I learned a lot from seeing various ruins. The driver drove very well and it was a comfortable trip!
I’m very glad I chose this tour. If you have one day, I strongly recommend this tour, get out the dusty, noisy city centre and enjoy fresh air and spectacular view in silence from top of the mountain, where you also see Thai border. Temples you see in this tour are very different from what you can see near Angkor Wat area. On the way to Preah Vihear, I saw amazing sunrise from the car. The guide Sok Chea and the driver were really nice and looked after me very well. Guide is very knowledgeable and made the trip very meaningful. Sok Chea speaks good English and is very professional. He also took many good pictures for me. The food they ordered in lunch was also good. Make sure you wear closed walking/sports shoes (not sandal) as you walk in mountain (it’s easy walk) This tour is worth for the price.
I came across the organizer here at TripAdvisor. Communication was straightforward. My request and all emails were answered promptly. The communication was in English - as was the communication during the excursion. The hotel pickup was on time and the quite long drive to the Preah Vihear was quick. The driver, Mr. Makara, drove very quickly but always safely. My guide, Mr.Vanna, was very open-minded and friendly. He accompanied me through all the temple complexes, explained the historical background and readily gave answers to my questions. The communication was excellent, to understand his English very well - I had other experiences there as well. The whole day trip was very entertaining and I liked it very much. Especially since these temples are located off the beaten path and were correspondingly under-visited. I can only recommend this trip but also the agency!
This tour was one of the highlights in our trip, and I strongly recommend it if you don't mind the early start. Visits to those temples were a completely different experience than those in the Angkor main area, as they were less crowed. Both our guide and driver were excellent. Mr Sok Chea, the tour guide, was very knowledged, friendly and open with information, not only about history and the temples, but also about customs and daily live of present Cambodia. Car was very comfortable and our driver make sure to drive it safely. We were really happy to have made the decision of taking this tour.
