Fátima es una ciudad de peregrinación de renombre en el centro de Portugal, más conocida por las apariciones marianas de 1917, cuando se dice que la Virgen María se apareció a tres niños pastores. Alberga el Santuario de Fátima, uno de los santuarios católicos más importantes del mundo, que incluye la Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, la Capilla de las Apariciones y la moderna Basílica de la Santísima Trinidad. Cada año, millones de peregrinos visitan Fátima, especialmente el 13 de mayo y el 13 de octubre, fechas de las principales celebraciones religiosas. Más allá de su significado espiritual, la ciudad ofrece un ambiente tranquilo, museos y paisajes naturales circundantes.
Comenzamos en Alfama, uno de los barrios más antiguos de Lisboa. Luego, nos dirigimos a Graça, encaramado en la colina más alta de la ciudad. My daughter and I did a full day trip to Fatima with Pedro A. He was such a perfect host! He told us all sorts of information about Portugal on the way up and back . While in Fátima, he knew to allow us time to pray when wanted, he showed us the museum and the shepherd children’s homes in addition to the sanctuary. We loved his guidance and his personality. I will def recommend him to family and friends planning trips to Lisbon.
