Es un famoso destino turístico en la provincia de Hunan que fue reconocido oficialmente como patrimonio mundial de la UNESCO en 1992. La formación en forma de pilares que se ve a través del parque es el resultado de muchos años de erosión. Con más del 90% de cobertura forestal, el área escénica comprende Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, Jinbian Stream y Wulongzhai. La cultura y el folclore minoritario están representados en los pueblos y ciudades cercanos, habitados por pueblos Tujia, Bai, Miao y Hui, por lo que vale la pena realizar excursiones.
Es el ascensor turístico más alto y rápido del mundo y ofrece una vista espectacular del bosque de picos de arenisca. Tiene una altura de 326 metros y puede transportar a 3.000 personas por hora en sus tres ascensores transparentes. Sólo se necesitan 88 segundos para llegar a la cima de la montaña.
Yuanjiajie está en la esquina norte del Parque Nacional Zhangjiajie. Esta zona, caracterizada por imponentes pilares de arenisca formados durante millones de años de erosión, es famosa y popular por su montaña Aleluya, llamada así por las rocas flotantes de Avatar. Las atracciones más populares son: Avatar Montaña Aleluya, Primer Puente Bajo el Cielo y así sucesivamente.
Es conocido por 4 espectáculos naturales: las nubes de niebla que rodean los picos de la montaña, las impresionantes vistas del sol naciente, las noches iluminadas por la luna y los picos nevados del invierno. Incluyen más de 80 plataformas naturales para contemplar el magnífico paisaje. Tome el teleférico hasta la montaña Tianzi para disfrutar de las vistas y relajarse.

My Zhangjiajie avatar mountain and glass bridge was great ! We had an awesome guide tour here name is Lillian . Even though our flight got delayed she gave us excellent service she waited for us checked on our flight delay and pick us up and dropped us off from airport she managed to still help us complete our tour she is very nice ! Overall great experience , incredible sightseeing view !

You could do this by yourself but why take the stress? It's a maze of queues, buses, cable car, lift, etc. Buses have multiple stops so you have to know where to alight. It's tickets and passports and face scanning. The glass bridge area is about 45m from the Avatar area and has separate admission, etc. BTW Tianmen mt is not on this tour. We thought it was well worth the price to have a guide. We got lucky w Amy who is the best guide we have had in many countries and many tours. She is friendly, funny and knows exactly where to go. The process was stress free.

Arianna was an excellent guide. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and allowed us to select specific activities that enhanced our tour (e.g. zipline, slide, and ferreta/cliff climbing). Tip for the slide - remove your shoes if wearing socks. Otherwise your rubber soles will slow you down significantly. The national park is spectacular. Lots of steps, shuttle rides on curvy roads, photo opportunities and snack options. Public restrooms are plentiful.

The tour was amazing from start to finish. A really nice car, there was so much to do in the tour and the guide Lillian was just exceptional. She was intelligent, multilingual, so well organised and she was kind and warm and attentive. She really made sure that we had a fun amazing experience and her descriptions and knowledge of the tour spots were perfect. Honestly probably the best organised tour I’ve ever been on. We had good viewing weather despite rain and the landscape (Avatar inspiration scenery!) is unbelievable and the elevator, glass bridge, cable car etc. are all exceptional.
