Be sure to bring a water bottle if you head on to Pompeii. It was insanely hot in 2019. I also brought a snack banana, apple and an egg… despite the amazing lunch the fruit helped with my heat induced headache. Must wear comfortable shoes! I chose driving moccasins because I wanted my Italy photos to look as nice as the places I visited. I absolutely loved the guides, both the driver and the Pompeii guide. It was a good day. This time around I’m going to book tours around the coast since I’m “training” from Rome to Sorrento then Sorrento to Florence. I’ve enjoyed Viator tours in the States but I do love my Italy :)
Angelo is amazing We had lots of fun touring the coast and visiting Sorento and Pompeii Angelo was professional, friendly and took great care of us We would be happy to come again
Roberto was a total gentleman, great driver and very helpful guide. He arranged for a nice lunch in Positano and despite some terrible weather during the drive and poor traffic conditions he was super smooth and always made us feel safe. Positano is typical Amalfi coast and there are other places to preference but if it’s your thing it’s fine. Pompei was amazing. The local archaeologist guide was an absolute treat, hilarious, informative and made the time fly by. Overall, two great visits but a long day in the car. If you want do it in a day though, this is the way to do it.
Roberto went above and beyond with driving us on this wonderful tour. Fantastic day spent driving to Positano, wandering the streets, stores and beaches of Positano. Before an amazing guided tour of the highlights of Pompei with Romolo as our guide. Can't speak highly enough of his insights into daily life in Pompeii. Disappointed that we didn't opt to be spending more time there. Could have spent at least a full day just in Pompei
I’m sure it’s a great tour, if it happens. The company contacted me a week or so before the trip saying the boat portion had to be cancelled and that they would refund 20 Euro per person for the change. Then they contacted me 2 days before to say that another group had cancelled and now the tour was no longer guaranteed to run and they suggested that I cancel as well. So unless you want to spend part of your vacation scrambling for a last minute tour, maybe pick a more reliable company to book with.
Dear Client , I'm sorry of course for the inconvenience caused. We operate tours with maximum 8 people and if we receive last minute cancellations ( majority of resellers, as you know, have a full refund policy if cancellation is made more than 24 hrs before the tour ) and we go down to 2 or 3 people, we do not have other alternative than offering to reschedule on a different day or to cancel the tour. No need to say that of course we do not enjoy doing this, but this tour is very costly and we can not operate it without a guaranteed number of people . Kind Regards Monica
Positano is simply amazing. We had so much fun strolling the shops and the beach. Pompeii was amazing and Ciro, our guide, was simply fantastic. He had so much knowledge, it was priceless.
Roberto shepherded our group of seven in an unforgettable experience -- and ensured the aunties were well cared for when mobility challenges threatened to derail their participation. The day was long but the tour well-orchestrated and we were able to see all the sites we wished to visit. Our memories of the day are priceless!
Tour started a little late but once going it was a great experience. Our driver was very knowledgeable about the areas we passed going to Positano. It was a real treat to have a few hours to shop and eat and walk along the coast before heading to Pompeii. Once we arrived at Pompeii, our guide Romolo met us at the van and guided us through the entrance with no wait. Romolo was entertaining as well as knowledgeable about the ruins. He had a mix of history with humor that made our time fly by, leaving us feeling like we saw so much and yet gained an appreciation for how much more there is to see and be uncovered. It is a long day and we were tired heading back, but well worth it. Highly recommend it.
Beautiful experience. Responsive tour operator connected prior to the tour on phone and email. Pickup at our home, clean Mercedes mini van, friendly English speaking driver - Anna was excellent! Shared a lot of fun facts and very patient with our questions on landmarks along the way. Amalfi, Positano were beautiful - we had a little over an hour at each place, wish we had planned to stay overnight at each of those places, and explored more. Ferry ride to Positano was scenic!!. Guide in Pompeii -Cero - was excellent!! Started at 6:30am - back by 7:30pm - door-to-door! Highly recommend for a convenient and hassle-free day trip from Rome!!
Without a doubt, it was Pompeii. Ciro was a great tour guide! He gets 5+ stars. Boat ride only had indoor seating available due to full boat with dirty windows and it ruined the beautiful scenery. Got no time in Positano, very little instruction on meeting point and there was about 1,000 stairs up the mountain. There was a problem withthe dates stamped on our boat tickets and theylet part of the family board and sent the rest to get revised tickets. The boat was leaving as we were coming back with the revised tickets. They were going to split the family up over what was clearly a problem on the tour’s end. If not for Pompeii, this toir would get 0 stars for the money paid vs what you get.
Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry your experience was not a satisfactory one. Im glad you've enjoyed Pompeii with our guide Ciro, and as for the boat , our drivers generally inform clients to try and arrive at the port 5 minutes before in order to get the seats outside the boat. Anyhow if this should not be possible, we always suggest to stay anyhow in the open - the ride is about 30 minutes and if there are no problems with stading versus staying seated , you'll enjoy the most beautiful scenery of the Amalfi coast , that is only possible to enjoy from the sea. Nowdays the road is too busy and therefore to be able and enjoy at full the Amalfi coast and not only the very first part of the coast ( Positano ) , taking a boat is the only option. In regards to the windows, as we had some adverse weather recently , that's the sea salt caused by the waves- As for Positano, there is time for a quick lunch maybe sitting in one of the cafes’ looking over to the beach and a walk through the little village and its shops or for spending some time on the beach, maybe enjoying a refreshing swim. As for the stairs in Positano, there is a road leading up to the parking lot where to meet the driver and from the port to walk thorough the little shops and small city center- There are a few steps but I really do not understand when referring to so many steps . Kindest Regards Monica
