Esta ciudad es la capital de la provincia de Cañar, mientras conducimos tendremos excelentes vistas de la ciudad y nuestro guía le explicará la influencia de la arquitectura moderna traída del extranjero.
Esta iglesia tiene un estilo arquitectónico gótico muy característico, que se remonta a finales del siglo XIX. Está construido en la ladera de una colina y muy a menudo encontrará lugareños caminando por la empinada colina hasta la iglesia como un tributo a la virgen. Luego visitaremos una familia indígena donde observaremos el tejido de sombreros de Panamá. Esta es una de las artesanías más auténticas del sur de Ecuador y tiene un papel destacado en la economía de la zona. Continuamos nuestro recorrido con un paseo por las encantadoras tierras altas, disfrutando de las hermosas vistas en el camino.
Ingapirca es el sitio arqueológico Inca más importante de Ecuador. Los adoradores del sol construyeron este templo-fortaleza en el valle del Cañar en el siglo XV. Se encuentra aproximadamente a 60 millas al noreste de Cuenca a una altura de 10,500 pies sobre el nivel del mar. Aquí encontramos una de las estructuras incas más importantes, una plataforma elíptica conocida como el "Templo del Sol" rodeada de patios, terrazas y varias otras estructuras. Para ver más de cerca el ambiente local, realizaremos una pequeña caminata para observar el Rostro del Inca, un gran afloramiento de piedra.

I really enjoyed this visit to Ingapirca and learned so much history about the Cañaris and Incas. The countryside is so beautiful and was a nice comfortable drive, with fun stops along the way. It feels really special to visit the site, and Andrés was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend this day trip, either private or as a shared tour.
