Philip was an excellent tour guide. He was more like a family and took care of every small detail. He even took a detour to make the experience even better!!!

The unique beauty of this area is something not to be missed. The cruises are really fun and informative. Many provide a taste of the local Krauter Liqueur--Jagermeister is perhaps the most commonly known such drink in the US. The salt mines in this part of the world have been used for centuries. Some were also used by the Nazis to hide the art, treasures and money stolen during World War II as made famous by the movie "Momunent Men"

The tour was a great experience. It is well worth going on. The lake and the surrounding mountains are breathtakingly beautiful Going up to Hitler’s eagle nest was equally fantastic. The views from there are amazing. Philip the guide was great. He gave us options as to what we could do. I highly recommend this tour

Busy day but with a very good organization. Fortunately, organized with Philip, at the foot of the accommodation, who knows this organization inside out and who has oiled all this machinery. This has a cost, but without it, the visits could not have taken place. We had also chosen not to visit the salt mines, and it was a good choice because we enjoyed the lake all morning with a very nice walk, then the Eagle's Nest where we spent the afternoon. It was a reasonable pace, as there is a lot of road to get to this place

The trip was organized very well!!!! We got to spend an entire day at Berchtesgaden and Konigsee… I highly recommend this tour guide to anybody planning to come to Germany

After reading other positives reviews of the Daetz Driver/Tour Service we decided to book the Munich Lake Konigssee and Berchtesgaden Salt Mine with Lake Cruise private Tour while we were in Germany in June. We also booked a ride with Daetz to take us to the Munich airport from our Munich Hotel for our flight home at the end of our trip in Germany. We were very disappointed with both services. First let me comment on the Lake Konigssee/Berchtesgarden/Salt mine tour: We expected a high level of service from the Daetz firm after reading so many good reviews but we did not receive that on our tour. Here are problems we experienced on our tour. 1) The Daetz driver did not have a sign with our name on it as promised at the Munich Airport where he was to pick us up to begin our tour. We had to ask people standing in the "pick-up" area outside the terminal to find him ourself. 2) Our Driver barely spoke any English and was very difficult to communicate with 3) Our driver was not able to offer any information on the places we were visiting on this tour and did not seem to be familiar with these areas 4) Our Driver seemed to get lost a few times during our trip and was relying on the car’s navigation system for guidance and information from someone he was calling on the phone repeatedly which slowed us down all day 5) We never got to the Salt Mines in Salzburg as we could not get there in time before the days last tours Our expectation was that we would have a Driver/Guide that would keep us on a time table where we would see all sites that we were supposed to see on our tour. Our driver did not know that the Buses to Eagle nest require a scheduled "up the mountain" and "down the mountain" time slot ( we wasted over 1 hour waiting for the down bus). ** NOTE: The driver bought all tickets so we were dependent on him to explain the procedure we were to follow at all these sites.. Our driver did not know that we should get off the boat on the first stop on the Lake Konigsee boat ride if we wanted to have a 1 hour boat ride ( Instead we ended on that boat for over 2 ½ hours to get back to the start point wasting at least another 1 ½ hours). Because of these issues we missed our opportunity to go to the Salt mines in Salzburg because we were out of time that day. Next let me comment on the Munich Airport Shuttle: On July 3 we were scheduled to be picked-up at our Hotel at 10:15am for a ride to the airport for our flight home. No Daetz driver ever showed up. I called the number listed on the Daetz web site to request help when no driver showed and was told that no one was availble to help us. We ultimately had the hotel get us a cab and got to the airport just in time to make our flight. Unacceptable. After we got home and before writing this review I contacted Phillip Daetz the owner of the service about these issues and requested a full refund for the airport ride and a partial refund for the Tour. Mr. Daetz did refund the cost of the Airport ride but did not offer any refund on the messed up tour. I know many others have rated this firm highly but I would caution you to beware. Our experience was terrible and I would not recommend you use this service.
