Comenzará el día en la montaña de Montjuic desde donde podrá apreciar las magníficas vistas panorámicas de la ciudad. La montaña era una estrategia para defender la ciudad contra los ataques. Actualmente, alberga la famosa Fundació Miró y la Caixa Forúm. Estos y otros edificios de Montjuïc, ilustran perfectamente ejemplos del arte moderno y la arquitectura contemporánea.
Después de Montjuic se dirigirá a la costa de Barcelona pasando por el Monumento a Colón y las góticas Drassanes. La playa está rodeada por la arquitectura más reciente y mejor representada por el World Trade Center y el renovado Port Vell. Mantenga su auténtico carisma, Puerto Viejo ahora está lleno de restaurantes, discotecas y fantásticas tiendas.
Disfrutará de un paseo por el Barrio Gótico, conocido como uno de los distritos que forman parte de Ciutat Vella, el casco antiguo de la ciudad. En Ciutat Vella, donde comenzó la historia de Barcelona, experimentará la modernidad tejida con huellas romanas y medievales. Mientras pasa por las calles de este elegante barrio, observará que el concepto de planificación urbana de Cerdà fue revolucionario y utópico.

En esta excursión también tendrá la oportunidad de pasar por la lujosa avenida de Passeig de Gràcia, con su típica arquitectura catalana. La avenida es el hogar de las fachadas más notables de los edificios modernistas, como La Pedrera de Gaudí, la Casa Batlló y la Casa Lleó - Morera o la Casa Ametller de Domènech.
Tras visitar Barcelona le llevaremos por carretera a la mística montaña de Montserrat para descubrir este impresionante monumento natural y aprender sobre su importancia para los catalanes. Esta maravilla de 4,000 metros es fácilmente reconocible por su cima «dentada» por la que recibió su nombre.
Visitarás el monasterio benedictino de Santa María de Montserrat, que goza de una ubicación impresionante, rodeado de un paisaje natural pintoresco antes de pasear por los alrededores del monasterio. Disfruta de las inigualables vistas que ofrece esta región, declarada Parque Natural en 1987. También descubriremos la Cueva Santa donde se dice que apareció la virgen, representada por la estatua románica de la Virgen Negra. Desde entonces, el lugar se ha convertido en un auténtico centro de peregrinación y oración. We were only in Barcelona for two days and we were trying to cram in as much of the sights as possible during our stay and this tour enabled us to do so. We started in Montserrat high in the mountains visiting the monastry and La Moreneta which was absolutely breathtaking and tranquil; a complete contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. We returned to Barcelona in the afternoon visiting Montjuic, the Olympic Stadium and the Port where we took in incredible vistas. Augusto was an incredible driver as he showed us many of Gaudi's buildings from the comfort of our air conditioned mini van. On foot we explored the Gothic quarter which Isabel brought to life through her stories and histories of the city. In addition to learning about the history of Barcelona and its famous landmarks and buildings, Isabel provided restaurant recommendations, recipes and was thoroughly delightful. The highlight of the day was visiting the Sagrada Familia where we took an audio tour to experience Gaudi's masterpiece. Isabel and Augusto were amazing hosts and we would thoroughly recommend them.
Liana was excellent and very knowledgeable. It was an incredible tour and we all learned so much. This is the way to experience Barcelona!

We had a great shore excursion tour with Liana! We toured the highlands of Barcelona and Liana arranged our entrance tickets to Sagrada Família. She also gave us so much information and made quite a few stops in Barcelona for us to look at views. She was both the driver and guide. Then she drove us to Montserrat Monastery. Because it was a holiday the parking and traffic was very backed up so Liana came up with an alternate plan. She brought us to the cog railway station and got our tickets and hers and we all went together. She gave us a wonderful tour of Montserrat. She is a wealth of knowledge. It was an awesome day and we highly recommend Liana!
