Una excursión de un día al Parque Nacional Tsavo East es una popular aventura de "amanecer al atardecer" para los viajeros que se alojan en Mombasa, Diani Beach, Watamu o Malindi. El parque es la mayor área protegida de Kenia y el hogar de los famosos "elefantes rojos". Puntos destacados Elefantes Rojos : Manadas icónicas que parecen rojas por revolcarse en el suelo rico en hierro del parque. Presa de Aruba : Un abrevadero artificial que atrae altas concentraciones de vida silvestre, especialmente en la estación seca. Meseta de Yatta : El flujo de lava enfriado más largo del mundo, que abarca 300km. Río Galana : Visualiza hipopótamos y cocodrilos a lo largo de las orillas de este río perenne con sombra de palmera.

05 : 00 AM : Salga de su hotel o residencia costera temprano para llegar a la entrada del parque a medida que sale el sol. El viaje desde Mombasa o Diani suele durar de 2 a 3 horas a través de la autopista Mombasa-Nairobi. 08 : 30 – 09 : 00 AM : Llegada y Mañana Game Drive. Entra por la Puerta Bachuma. Comienza tu primer juego en coche de inmediato, buscando a los "Cinco Grandes" (león, leopardo, elefante, búfalo y rinoceronte) y otra vida silvestre como jirafas, cebras y guepardos. 11:00 AM: Puntos destacados: Presa de Aruba, un abrevadero artificial que atrae a miles de animales, especialmente durante la estación seca. Roca Mudanda; Un inselberg que se eleva sobre una presa natural. 01:00 PM: Almuerzo en el campamento Sentrim 02 : 30 – 03 : 00 PM : Tarde Game Drive Embárcate en un último viaje más corto mientras te diriges hacia la salida del parque, centrándote en detectar depredadores que se activan al final de la tarde. 03 : 00 – 03 : 30 PM : Salida y regreso Salga del parque y comience el viaje de regreso a la costa.

AVOID!!! From the moment my elderly mother and I were picked up until we were dropped off, the excursion was chaotic, frustrating, and dangerous. I was hounded across WhatsApp and phone calls in the early morning hours because they assigned a new driver and neglected to provide him my exact location. Despite confirming the address the night prior and in several chats / calls, the driver still struggled to locate my easy-to-find location. After some driving, another driver handed us off to a van which was not the Jeep clearly depicted in the activity pictures. There was no guide only an aloof, dangerous driver who mumbled a few words occasionally but provided zero context for the game drive. This driver was very reckless and we felt scared on many occasions, especially when he was throwing rocks at a lion to get it to wake up. Because he clearly did not know where to find the animals, the entire outing wasted our time and money. He didn't take us to any of the spots outlined in the activity description; we also didn't eat lunch in the park or go for a second game drive. Heading back to Mombasa was incredibly uncomfortable because there was no AC as promised in the activity listing. Overall, we were ripped off as we did not receive close to the value of what we paid for this activity.
Our small group tour of Tsavo East National Park was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Kenya. The park itself is विशाल and beautifully wild, with stunning landscapes of red earth, open plains, and scattered acacia trees. We were lucky enough to see elephants (covered in the famous red Tsavo dust!), lions, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of antelope and bird species. Every game drive felt like a new adventure. Traveling in a small group made the experience even better. It felt personal and unhurried, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable — not just about spotting animals, but also about their behavior and the park’s ecosystem. We had plenty of opportunities to take photos and ask questions. If you’re looking for an authentic safari experience with breathtaking scenery and amazing wildlife, Tsavo East is a fantastic choice. I would highly recommend a small group tour for a more intimate and immersive experience. An absolute must for nature and wildlife lovers! 🐘🌅
