Avoid this tour if safety, transparency and customer service are important to you. We were genuinely looking forward to this experience, but it became clear before we even started that safety and customer care were not being treated as priorities. The first issue was the helmet provided for my child. It was either painfully tight or the only alternative available was an adult-sized helmet. A properly fitting helmet is the most basic piece of safety equipment for an ATV tour. Rather than helping us find suitable equipment, staff showed little interest and left me to deal with the problem myself. The biggest surprise came when we discovered, only after arriving, that a significant part of the tour involves riding ATVs on busy public roads in normal traffic for approximately 10 minutes each way before reaching the off-road trails. This was never mentioned during booking or in the tour description. Had we known this beforehand, we would never have booked. When I explained that I did not feel comfortable riding on public roads with my child as a passenger, my concerns were dismissed with comments such as “everyone does it” and that a guide would be riding in front. That completely missed the point. A guide riding ahead cannot control other traffic or reduce the risks to my ATV and passenger. At that point I decided it was not safe to continue and requested a refund. Despite us not participating in the tour at all and my concerns being entirely about safety rather than a change of mind, the refund was refused without any attempt to find a reasonable solution or show any understanding. Adventure activities naturally involve risk, and we accepted that when booking what we understood to be an off-road ATV experience. What we did not expect was to discover after arrival that we would be riding in traffic on public roads, or to be treated so dismissively when raising genuine safety concerns.
We had a great day with 2 families with Danny as our guide. We had 5 total kids ranging from 7 to 15 and everyone had a blast. Danny was the nicest, coolest guy that catered to everyone like an old family friend. 10/10 experience without a doubt!!
We had a great experience doing the 3 hour ATV tour. Ninja was our guide and he was excellent. We saw many beautiful views from up on the mountain, saw a beautiful waterfall, and had a great stop and lunch at Cantina El Tajo. We recommend this tour and definitely recommend Ninja!
"The Best Day Ever ' 😊 There were waterfalls and rivers for swimming. There was wildlife monkeys 🐒, macaw and 🦜 toucan parrots and he spotted 2 sloths 🦥. while along the trail. There were stops at restaurants and bar in small towns along the road. This is where we sampled local foods and (moonshine) drink. We ended the day at 'The River ' this is where the locals celebrate Christmas 🎄. Thank you Tony (Guide)
Amazing ATV tour. Danny our guide was awesome, very professional , knowledgable, and made the trip fun for my girlfriend and I. Second time coming. Always a pleasure! Pura Vida
This ATV tour with AXR Jacó was phenomenal. It was my first time ever riding an ATV, and our guide Reiner was incredibly patient, professional, and reassuring. Safety was clearly a top priority, which made the experience both comfortable and exciting. The 2-hour ride takes you through stunning landscapes with beautiful views throughout—an amazing way to see the area and get a bit of adventure in. Reiner’s calm guidance made all the difference. I would absolutely do this tour again and recommend it to anyone, beginners included.
I’ve taken several tours with this company before and they were always excellent, but this time the experience was extremely disappointing. The guide showed an attitude of superiority, subtle discriminatory behavior, and even shortened the tour without covering the advertised routes. When we questioned this, the guide claimed there was a new owner and that “things aren’t like before,” which unfortunately was evident in the poor service. If the staff is not properly trained, the company will continue to decline, as the guide is the face of the business. I do not recommend this tour with Mario.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about this experience, as it does not reflect the service we aim to provide. We would like to clarify that we do not have a guide named Mario working with our company. Because of this, we’re concerned there may be some confusion about which tour operator was involved. We take comments about attitude, respect, and tour quality very seriously, and all of our guides are trained to provide friendly, respectful, and complete tours as advertised. If you believe there has been a mistake, we’d truly appreciate the opportunity to clarify it directly.
I went on TWO different ATV tours and had Danny for my guide. Everything went very smooth. From signing up and doing the necessary paperwork which only took 5 minutes. Danny was very knowledgeable about everything on the tour and made it very enjoyable and fun. They speak fluent English which made the process much easier. I will definitely be back and do more tours in the future.
We are two girls from Denmark who took the ATV trip out in the wild, and it is one of the coolest we have tried. Tony was with as a guide
I’m and 100% when I say this is the BEST excursion/adventure that I’ve been on, ever! We rented the ATV’s and Dany was our guide. No way our trip would’ve been the same without him, his knowledge and eagle eyes were unmatched. It took days to even process ALL the incredible beauty and wildlife we saw during our tour. We had our 9 yo and 5 yo in the back and they were blown away as well. Waterfall swimming, chocolate farm tour, scarlet macaws, toucans, squirrel monkeys, the vast rainforest, wind in our hair, dirt on our faces, cliff side lunch overlooking the most scenic vista. I had the best snack of my life at Chupita’s Bar - river prawns that I’ll be dreaming about until I return! Thank you Dany for bringing so much joy and wonder to us, and for sharing a piece of your breathtaking country 🇨🇷
