Our tour was amazing. The sites and tour guilted were incredible. Tama was one of the best guides we have ever had
Exploring the ice cave near Vík, Iceland, was one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life. Walking inside a natural glacier surrounded by stunning blue ice formations felt like stepping into another world. The beauty, silence, and uniqueness of the cave made it an unforgettable adventure. Every corner revealed incredible textures, crystal-clear ice, and mesmerizing shades of blue shaped by nature over thousands of years. It was a truly magical experience and a photographer’s dream. Our guide was professional, knowledgeable, and safety-focused, sharing fascinating insights about the glacier and the formation of the ice caves while ensuring everyone felt comfortable throughout the tour. This experience offered a rare opportunity to witness one of Iceland’s most remarkable natural wonders up close. I highly recommend the ice cave tour in Vík to anyone visiting Iceland. It is an awe-inspiring adventure that perfectly showcases the raw beauty and power of nature and will remain one of my most treasured travel memories.
Felt slightly rushed on the ability to take pictures and capture videos. I still got a lot of videos and pictures, but didn’t have time to check them out to ensure it was what I wanted. So I had to trust that I got everything. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the guide and his sense of humor. We learned a lot along the way to the glacier hike and even got to see two additional new ice caves that formed in 1-2 week timeframe. We drove on the glacier and up to the spot you hike up to. It’s about a 15 minute hike uphill and then you’re good. Definitely wear hiking shoes, gloves, and adjust layers on how you feel outside. Definitely a great experience to have!
Outstanding trip. Goðjon was excellent. It was informative, beaitiful, and full of adventure. Our guide, Gordon was patient and always smiling. A bit of climbing and would rate it a little less than moderate difficulty. Highly recommend. The information about the changing glacier was fadcinating.
Ines was an amazing tour guide! She was very informative and took her time to safely guide us through the experience. This was so spectacular and highly recommend!
After booking an ice cave tour last year, we later discovered that the tour had been changed into one with an optional focus on drone footage of the surroundings. Had we known this in advance, we probably would not have booked it, and it would have been appropriate for Katlatrack to let us know. Fortunately, the other two guests had also booked well in advance. The tour itself was beautiful: a drive across a “vast black plain,” accompanied by interesting stories from the guide and, in particular, Icelandic music chosen to match each location. The walk across the glacier to the ice cave — or, more accurately, the ice tunnel — was enjoyable, but the real highlight was the tunnel itself, with its magnificent shades of blue.
This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. The Super Jeep was large and comfortable and gave us the opportunity to see a part of Iceland not accessible by typical passenger cars. Edgar was our tour guide and he did a great job of explaining many aspects about Iceland that we could not have learned from a guide book or website. The walk on the Glacier was surreal and Edgar guided us every step of the way and ensured that we all had a safe experience. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Had SUCH a wonderful experience with this tour! Our guide Gabi was extremely knowledgable and friendly and so much fun to be around! He was full of great info and patience and was able to answer our many never ending questions! All in all, such an awesome time and so glad we booked this adventure!
This is an extraordinary tour, offers everything it promises, but isn’t going to be available in the long term unless there are major changes. To get to the ice caves you need to put crampons over your hiking boots and then scramble up a landscape which is already crumbling. There will come a moment when the soft soil can no longer bear the weight of a body. It’s already deteriorating visibly. So go while you still can.
It was an amazing experience. The views were spectacular and uniqe. The guide was wonderful, very knowledable, funny and professional. I recommend this to everyone.
