Location for the pick up was hard to find. It would’ve been helpful to have it identified as the visitor center with the address. I was not clear that the tour was intended to leave you downtown and not returned back to the visitor center. However, our guide did say we could ride back to the visitor center. All in all good trip.
Sight seeing was great. Listen carefully to the tour guide. I think a longer tour at a slower pace would be better.
We were extremely impressed with Scott. He is a wealth of knowledge, patient, professional, and very passionate about Charleston. The tour exceeded our expectations and we would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about the area!
Pl emphasize uneven walkways and delineate the different areas. If there for the 1st time - difficult to figure out French Quarters vs North Charleston etc
Sorry you had trouble navigating. North Charleston is a different city, French Quarter is a small part of downtown Charleston. We are not sure what you mean about uneven walkways, but yes in any city that is more than 350 years old, with cobblestone streets and historic areas, there are certainly bound to be some uneven sidewalks or walkways.
The driver, Anderson, was great! We learned a lot about the history of Charleston and Anderson had a lot of food recommendations. Highly recommend.
The driver/tour guide had a southern accent difficult to understand, plus his microphone was faulty and the A/C was so loud: could not hear the facts even after speaking up because he couldn’t hear me! Most of the sights were good, except for the academy portion of the tour was too long. Overall; just ok.
I could tell the guide was very knowledgeable but none of us could understand what he was saying. Bus was also very hot.
We had a hard time hearing the tour guide.
The tour starts at a renovated train depot. Really pretty to see and explore while waiting on the start of the tour. Our driver was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area and provided lots of important details. The ride is a little over an hour, you don’t stop anywhere to take pictures so you probably will have to take a video. I would have like to stop for a couple minutes at some points to snap pictures. Some people fell asleep because it’s not very interactive.
Anderson was a fabulous guide! So grateful to sit in an air conditioned bus on a super hot day and tour some of Charleston’s famous places. I highly recommend this tour… and hope you wind up with Anderson as your tour guide!
