Da un paso atrás en el tiempo con este fascinante recorrido por la histórica ciudad de Malaca. La ciudad de Malaca es Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Fundada en 1400, Malaca fue una vez uno de los mayores puertos comerciales del sudeste asiático. Con fuertes influencias portuguesas, holandesas y británicas, Malaca ahora se queda con un rico patrimonio y una mezcla única de estilos arquitectónicos. Visita la calle de la Armonía, donde se puede ver el templo chino y el templo hindú más antiguos de Malasia. Camine por las ruinas de la Iglesia de San Pablo, donde una vez fue enterrado San Francisco Javier. Crucero por el río desde el muelle de Taman Rempah, el crucero se detendrá en el muelle de Flor De La Mar, donde termina el crucero. (Flor del Mar) es una réplica del original que se perdió en la costa de Sumatra y se hundió en el año 1511. construido en 1502 en Lisboa y uno de los mejores barcos de la época. Malaca es diferente a cualquier otra cosa y no querrás perderte una visita a esta increíble ciudad histórica.

Según la historia malaya, el matrimonio del sultán con la hija del emperador resultó en una afluencia dramática de colonos chinos porque cuando llegó la princesa trajo consigo un séquito considerable que incluía 500 doncellas. La novia Ming se instaló en Bukit China junto con su gran séquito y la colina ha sido un área dominada por chinos desde entonces.
Construido entre 1660 y 1700, brillantes edificios coloniales holandeses de color rojo terracota con ventanas con persianas y puertas gruesas con bisagras de hierro forjado. El interior del Stadthuys es hermoso, con escaleras blancas y monumentales y ventanas altas. Parece un típico edificio municipal holandés del siglo XVII.
El exterior es en su mayoría ruinas y se asemeja a la arquitectura portuguesa. Un pequeño camino pavimentado se corta en la cima de la colina que lleva a los visitantes dentro de las ruinas de la iglesia. La iglesia está dedicada a San Pablo Apóstol y verás su estatua pintada en blanco.
Christ Church fue construida en 1753 para celebrar un siglo de ocupación holandesa. El exterior es instantáneamente un edificio rojo ladrillo reconocible con una enorme cruz blanca en la parte superior. El interior de la catedral tiene bancos de 200 años hechos a mano, faroles decorativos y plagas que honran a los soldados y lugareños holandeses. Cuando los británicos se hicieron cargo de Malaca, agregaron una llave meteorológica y una campana a la Iglesia de Cristo y la transformaron de una iglesia protestante a una anglicana.
La Iglesia de San Pedro es la Iglesia Católica operativa más antigua de Malasia. Fue construido en 1710 en un terreno donado por el holandés Maryber Franz Amboer. El objeto más antiguo de la iglesia es la campana, fabricada en Goa en 1908.
El lugar de culto budista más antiguo del país, construido en 1646, se conoce como el 'Templo de la Nube Misericordiosa'. El templo está dedicado a Kuan Yin, Diosa de la Misericordia. Una estatua negra, dorada y vestida de rojo de la diosa se encuentra en la sala central de oración.
A principios de la década de 1930, el residente británico, a pedido de un misionario francés, permitió el establecimiento de un pueblo pesquero de cabañas de madera en un área de tierra pantanosa al lado del mar. Originalmente se llamaba St.John's Village y se convirtió en un bastión para aquellos con ascendencia portuguesa para preservar su religión, idioma, cultura y tradiciones. Hoy, el asentamiento, a veces llamado Mini Lisboa, comprende calles con nombres como D'Alberquerque, Sequera Eredia, D'Aranjo y Texeira.

We really enjoyed the day to Malacca because the Tour Guide Ben was very knowledgeable and kindness. We did see a lot historical buildings. Especially the River cruise was wonderful. The lunch was fantastic!

It was a great day out of busy KL. Nice drive to and from with a friendly driver. We went by car with only 4 passengers so it was a nice day. Worth having a look at this historical city.

<p>We loved our tour to Melaka. Viator was easy to book and e-vouchers makes the entire process easy. Also appreciate the courtesy hotel pickup n drop off. <br/> Stephen our tour guide was marvellous, an articulate storyteller. He was there to assist and without being intrusive.</p>
<p>This Malacca tour would have been an ideal one with an eager beaver for a tour guide with the name Gunar so with the driver also named gunar. we were picked up from our hotel at 8:45am as appointed for a 930 am departure for Malacca. there were 4 passengers then we went to pick up the rest from other hotels on the way to MATIC. we waited until 9:45am before we were told to be patient and wait for another couple who were late. the bus finally left MATIC at 10:15am to pick up 2 more passengers from the same hotel we stayed, where we were picked up at 8:45am. there are suppose to be 6 pax from our hotel but the pick up team never bothered to look for the 2 more passengers who were still taking their breakfast that caused the more than an hour delay by going back to pick them up at the hotel so the tour group can proceed to Malacca. We arrived in Malacca past 12 noon and we were rushed from one place to another to make up for the lost time. We finally had lunch at a local Chinese restaurant at past 2pm. after lunch, we were left at Jonker walk to take a stroll. then we went back to KL. while I was getting off the bus, the driver suddenly stepped on the bus accelarator that caused me to almost fell out of the bus. It's a good thing that my son as always extended his hands to help me descend from the bus and caught me. the tour guide nor the driver did not even bother to ask if i was ok but they just left. The pick up bus was nice but the tour bus used to go to Malacca was rickety and can hear all the engine noise instead of the tour guide's voice as we travelled and the seats are not comfortable. The tour guide forgot to mention the important informations about the places we went to it's a good thing, our tour guide/driver to Putrajaya the day before gave us a very good historical insights about Malacca maybe due to the complaints of the other passengers who were hungry and kept on buying food as the tour guide was chattering. The worst was I almost fell from the bus as I was getting off due to recklessness of the driver and they even saw i was using a walking stick that day due to a bad back. i hope viator will not engage the services of said tour company with rude employees and have a policy regarding late passengers.</p>

<p>Lovely trip wasted by the fact the guide would only allow us to visit the sites that he thought we should visit. He was not pleased when we asked to stop at an antiques stall and hurried us along to the next shop where he could buy the produce that he thought we should buy. If you advertise an English guide provide one! Not someone who thinks they speak English. We found ourselves apologising to other travellers when they asked us to translate what he was saying!</p>
<p>Big dissapointment for us. Pick up 20 min late, after 2 hours travelling from KL we expected much more. Most of the time in the bus, just short stops no real chance to explore and no walking on jonker street despite it was written in itinerary. Unfortunately wasting of day.</p>
<p>The place is worth the trip! But the guide was always in a hurry. The bus trip and lunch was longer than the actual trip to the place.</p>
<p>A little disorganized during departure. We were picked up more than an hour before departure. We departed 20minutes late. We visited lots of interesting sites. No time to linger at any spot. Tour guide was attentative. Answered all questions. Was not taken to traditonal Malacca restaurant.</p>
<p>A great day out of the hustle and bustle of KL taking in some of the history of Malaysia and its people.</p>
