El zumbido de la mañana de Phnom Penh a su alrededor mientras espera en el vestíbulo de su hotel, su nombre en un alegre cartel de “bienvenida” sostenido por su conductor. Quince minutos antes de la salida, te llevarán a un cómodo vehículo con aire acondicionado con destino a Siem Reap. Durante las próximas 5-6 horas, se deslizará por los paisajes cambiantes de Camboya, arrozales, pueblos y cielos abiertos, con relajantes descansos para ir al baño y tomar café esparcidos por el camino.
Angkor Wat, construido c.1150 por el rey Suryavarman II, es un monumental complejo de templos hindú-budistas cerca de Siem Reap. Con una superficie de alrededor de 160 ha, es famosa por su silueta de cinco torres, su vasto foso y sus intrincados bajorrelieves que representan dioses y cuentos épicos.
La Puerta Sur de Angkor Thom (finales del siglo XII al XIII) es la entrada mejor conservada a la ciudad amurallada. Flanqueado por devas y asuras que sostienen balaustradas de naga, cuenta con torres de 23 m con caras serenas talladas al estilo Bayón
Bayón, el templo estatal en Angkor Thom construido por Jayavarman VII (finales del siglo XII-principios del XIII), es famoso por sus ~37 torres de piedra, cada una adornada con inmensos rostros serenos. Sus galerías están repletas de bajorrelieves que representan mitos, historia y la vida cotidiana de los jemeres

Ta Prohm (finales del siglo XII, por Jayavarman VII) es un templo budista revestido de selva cerca de Angkor Thom, famoso por sus enormes árboles y raíces entrelazados con ruinas musgosas. Dejado en gran parte sin restaurar, evoca una atmósfera “antigua y sobrecrecida” y aparece en Tomb Raider

Ubicado cerca de la orilla del río y a pocos minutos de la emblemática calle Pub, este mercado histórico es una visita obligada para cualquiera que busque experimentar la verdadera Camboya.
A medida que la tarde se desvanece, te acomodas en tu viaje de regreso a Phnom Penh. El viaje dura alrededor de 5 horas, llegando a su hotel al anochecer. (Nota: los fines de semana y las vacaciones camboyanas pueden prolongar el viaje.)

I had a fantastic experience visiting Angkor Wat with my guide, Mr. T. He was incredibly knowledgeable, punctual, patient, and made the entire day feel relaxed and well organized. The itinerary was excellent and allowed us to see so much without ever feeling rushed. I really appreciated that Mr. T let me spend as much time as I wanted at each location and never made me feel like we had to hurry to the next stop. He also knew all the best photo spots and angles, which made for some amazing pictures! Breakfast was very good as well, and overall everything was thoughtfully planned from start to finish. Mr. T’s knowledge of the temples and their history added so much to the experience. I would absolutely recommend this tour and Mr. T to anyone visiting Angkor Wat with a short amount of time!

What a fabulous way to visit Angkor Wat. Yes it is a long drive but totally worth the effort. My driver was great with a seamless pickup and drop off and stopped along the way when requested. My guide at Angkor Wat, Mr T was very knowledgeable and also a great photographer. For those travellers based in Phonm Penh I would highly recommend doing this tour.

Kim the tour guide absolutely phenomenal. I learned so much about the temples, history, religion and culture. Kim was also incredibly informative and patient and helpful. he always asked and made sure if I was okay and if I needed water. Enjoyed our tour. The tour guide was knowledgeable and very helpful with taking pictures. The tour was quite a bit of money with the temple pass not included.
