Excursión de un día en grupo pequeño desde Liubliana a las cuevas de Škocjan y la ciudad costera veneciana de Piran, declaradas Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, con un guía local autorizado y no más de 8 invitados. En un país con miles de cuevas, Škocjan es a quien llevamos a nuestros amigos visitantes. Camina por un cañón subterráneo tallado junto al río Reka, a través de una pasarela situada a casi 50 metros sobre el agua, a través de salones lo suficientemente grandes como para albergar una catedral. Está declarado por la UNESCO y es mucho más tranquilo que las cuevas de Eslovenia, por lo que lo elegimos para esta ruta. En el camino a la costa, se detiene en el castillo de Socerb, encaramado en el borde de la meseta kárstica con todo el Golfo de Trieste abajo. Luego Piran, cinco siglos de Venecia en un casco antiguo compacto: calles estrechas, plaza Tartini, el pequeño puerto, tiempo para un almuerzo de mariscos junto al agua, y en los meses de verano, tiempo libre suficiente para un baño en el Adriático. Su día comienza con la recogida en el centro de Liubliana. En el viaje de aproximadamente 1 hora, su guía presenta el Karst, la región de piedra caliza que dio nombre a los paisajes cársticos en todo el mundo, y la cueva por la que está a punto de caminar. Luego una visita guiada de 2 horas por las cuevas de Škocjan : un cañón subterráneo tallado por el río Reka, una pasarela situada a casi 50 metros sobre el agua, salones lo suficientemente grandes como para albergar una catedral. Protegido por la UNESCO, y mucho más tranquilo que las cuevas de Eslovenia.
En el camino a la costa se detiene en el castillo de Socerb, encaramado en el borde de la meseta kárstica. Desde el castillo todo el Golfo de Trieste se abre debajo de usted, la costa eslovena e Italia en una sola vista. Una parada corta, tiempo para fotos y la vista.
Luego Piran, cinco siglos de Venecia en un casco antiguo compacto: calles estrechas, Plaza Tartini, el pequeño puerto. Su guía le guiará por el centro histórico, luego es su hora, un almuerzo de mariscos junto al agua, un café en la plaza y en los meses de verano un baño en el Adriático. Tu guía sabe qué konoba vale tu hora. Después del tiempo libre, un relajado viaje de regreso a Liubliana con una entrega en el centro.

This was an outstanding day trip and one of the highlights of my visit to Slovenia. The Škocjan Caves were absolutely incredible. Seeing this UNESCO World Heritage Site in person is an experience that photos simply can't capture. The immense underground chambers and natural formations were breathtaking, and the guided tour was both informative and well organized. After the caves, we visited Piran, a beautiful coastal town with charming streets, stunning Adriatic views, and a relaxed atmosphere. It was the perfect contrast to the caves and gave us time to explore, enjoy the scenery, and experience another side of Slovenia. The entire day was well paced, professionally organized, and offered a wonderful mix of natural beauty, history, and culture. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Slovenia.

This was a last minute tour because two different vendors both had canceled my coveted tours. However, this made up for the dissapoint of the promised tours. Went to the Ŝkocjan Caves, and Piran. I felt went into two different environments one was mountainous and other Mediterranean. My guide Tomaź was great. He answered all my questions, was always prompt, and warmly personable with the travelers.

A lot of driving on the road and ticket is not included in the price but this is a small group compared to other tour group.

The guide Thomas was extremely knowledgeable, interesting and accommodating. Varied experiences. The caves were awe-inspiring with a pleasant walk to get to them and a walk up to a viewpoint with Thomas afterwards. Seeing the river flowing through the cavern was marvellous as were the columns formed over thousands of years. Made me think of 'Alien'. We drove to the home of the Lippanzaners. Seeing literally (I mean it) hundreds of the white horses fulfilled a childhood dream. I was impressed that we could drive past their fields and take photos without hindrance. Then a drive to Piran, a picturesque place with a nice seafood restaurant recommended by our guide. A worthwhile experience.

What a day out! Our guide Nina did a brilliant job on that day, her pace was gentle and clean, her commentary is well constructed and relevant and also pleasing to the ears, she is one of the best guide I had in Slovenia, very clear instruction throughout the day. The day is well out together, with the beautiful magnificent cave to start the day then relaxing in Piran, a great day out.

Went to both Postojna and Skocjan Caves, both should be visited, each has something unique and breathtaking. There are around 500 steps to go up in Skocjan Caves, worth it, but something to consider when deciding your itinerary. Piran is a lovely little town, unfortunately for us it rained the whole day, but we had a fabulous meal and dessert, so enjoyed the experience regardless of the weather.
We completely agree that both Postojna Cave and Škocjan Caves are unique in their own way and absolutely worth visiting. We are sorry that the weather did not cooperate during your visit, but we are happy to hear that you still enjoyed the atmosphere of Piran. A good dessert often helps! 😊

Great guide and amazing views/scenery.
The cave is outstanding but it’s 3 kilometers and 500 steps, plus a lot of sloping up and down walkways. My watch said I climbed 59 stories. Piran is an attractive coastal town - only 4000 residents. Not too crowded for his time of year. The guide was great. Shares much knowledge of Slovenia and the sites we saw. Highly recommend!
