Combine algunos de los principales destinos de Nairobi en un viaje de un día completo a David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, el Giraffe Center y la fábrica de cuentas Kazuri. El transporte de puerta a puerta desde su alojamiento en Nairobi le ahorra el estrés de encontrar una serie de taxis entre sitios, y tendrá la oportunidad única de observar elefantes rescatados y jirafas de Rothschild desde mucho más cerca de lo que es posible en la naturaleza.

El recorrido comienza eligiéndote en tu hotel de Nairobi. Diríjase al Centro de Jirafas, la sede del Fondo Africano para la Vida Silvestre en Peligro que se hizo famosa por "Daisy Rothschild", una cría de jirafa rescatada de Soi, en la frontera occidental de Kenia. Daisy y su familia forman solo una pequeña parte de una manada de estos gentiles gigantes, que viven en un estado semi salvaje en Giraffe Manor. También aprenderá sus comportamientos, rasgos y más educación para la conservación. Estos animales llegarán a una pared protectora para ser alimentados. Aproveche al máximo su visita cuando vaya al sendero natural Giraffe Center hasta el río Gogo. Esto es lo que la mayoría de la gente no puede ver y es un lugar fascinante para caminar en la naturaleza, con arbustos a ambos lados y pájaros que dan las canciones más maravillosas. El sendero durará aproximadamente 1 hora subiendo y bajando a un ritmo relajante. Las tarifas de entrada al centro de jirafas están incluidas.
Luego lo llevaremos a David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust para que pasee por el pequeño centro de 11am a 12pm en un espacio abierto, con una cerca de cuerda alrededor. Los elefantes más jóvenes salen trotando del arbusto para saludar a sus cuidadores que están listos con botellas gigantes de leche. Durante los próximos 10-15 minutos puedes ver a cada pequeño sorber y hacer gárgaras con su leche. Cuando terminan, hay agua para jugar. Mientras los ves jugar y tomar fotos. Averigua cuántos años tenían cuando llegaron al orfanato, de dónde fueron rescatados y qué los metió en problemas. Una vez que los más jóvenes son alimentados, son conducidos nuevamente al monte, y es el turno de los niños de 2-3 años. Algunos de ellos pueden alimentarse a sí mismos, y otros aún son alimentados por sus cuidadores. Es muy lindo verlos sostener sus botellas gigantes de leche en sus baúles y cerrar los ojos con alegría mientras hacen un rápido trabajo con varios galones de leche.
Luego lo llevarán a la fábrica de Kazuri Beads. Esta es una empresa de cerámica que hace una de las cuentas más bellas del mundo. Se le mostrarán todas las etapas desde el principio hasta el final. Si necesita almorzar, nuestro guía lo llevará a los restaurantes cercanos a su propio costo.

Stephen Mutuku was an excellent guide. As we were traveling to the Giraffe he would explain about the areas we were passing by. My husband is an artist so while he drew Stephen took pictures with his cell phone. It was lightly raining and Stephen provided an umbrella for us to use. He took us to a great place to view the orphan elephants. We had a fabulous time.
My guide for the day was Stephen Mutuku. He was excellent! I am a solo traveler and ended up being the only one on the tour. Stephen was very knowledgeable and kind. 10/10 recommend!
Highly recommended tour! Learned a lot about the conservation efforts for Rothschild giraffes and orphaned elephants. Our guide/driver Stephen made sure everything was well-organized.
Giraffe centre was educational and pleasant experience, especially feeding them. Elephants, zebra and rhinoceros at the elephant location was entertaining, especially after they were fed. Driver Joseph was informative, on time, personable … excellent communicator

This activity is a must do!! It is a day pack with activities and the cutest animals. The Kobe bead factory was such a delightful surprise.. the story behind it is truly amazing. Ending with culture immersion through dance was the cherry on top of a great day. Our guide Stephen was absolutely amazing. He’s very knowledgeable, accommodating, and gave us all the tips and tricks to having the best experience. 10/10 recommend this activity and Stephen!

Organised the day trip to visit the Giraffe Centre and Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for the 11 am to 12 elephant feeding. After some trepidation about not booking direct with Sheldrick my fears were relieved. We were picked up by Steven our guide for the day at hotel and he was brilliant. It went great. He was invaluable for info and ensured that we had a perfect vantage point at the elephants. He took photos of us at the giraffes that we otherwise wouldn't have had. I am very glad we booked with Grace Patt company now and can't recommend Steven highly enough. Couldn't have asked for a better introduction to our 2 week safari tour through Kenta and Tanzania. Thank you Grace Patt and Steven. It pays to listen to guides..always.
This is a highly recommended tour. I did the half day tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Learning about the inspiring work that the Sheldrick wildlife trust do in rehabilitating elephant orphans was joyful and uplifting. And watching the feeding was a wonderful experience. Titus my tour guide, was professional and friendly.
