Una de las principales razones para visitar Shahrisabz es ver el paso de montaña y la zona rural de Uzbekistán. El camino comienza con los viñedos, frutales, hortalizas e hijo. Poco a poco la elevación cambiará y los campos serán reemplazados por colinas y, finalmente, por las Montañas Rocosas. El "Teshik Tosh" o "Rock with the Hole" es la primera parada para explorar el increíble trabajo realizado por la madre naturaleza. La legendaria película "Apachen", protagonizada por el famoso Gojko Mitic, fue filmada en el mismo lugar debido a su parecido con la pradera del suroeste de Estados Unidos.

Palacio de Ak Saray (Palacio Blanco). Las dimensiones del edificio se pueden percibir al mirar las torres de la puerta: las dos torres tenían 50 m de altura y tenían un arco con un tramo de 22 m. Los edificios fueron destruidos en el siglo XVI. por orden del gobernante de Bukhara, Abdullah Khan.
En 1435, la mezquita Kok-Gumbaz (la "Cúpula azul") se construyó frente al mausoleo de Kulyal y en el mismo eje. La inscripción en el portal dice acerca de su construcción por Ulugbek en nombre de su padre Shah Rukh. Jugó el papel de la mezquita Juma, es decir, la mezquita de la catedral de viernes de Shahrisabz.
La creación de un conjunto arquitectónico de la madraza Dorut-Tilavat se remonta principalmente al reinado de Ulugbek. En primer lugar, se erigió un mausoleo abovedado sobre la tumba de Sheikh Kul, sobre los restos de algunos edificios anteriores. There are 2 options, one is purely a driver, the other a guide. I chose the latter which fee is higher. The driver who drove us to the scenic spot of Shahrisabz does not speak English and didn't introduce or provide any tourist information during the ride. Our car (BYD) is good modern and cozy. After arriving at the main attraction of the trip which is beautiful, there was a English speaking guide.

The guide didn’t speak 1 word English, he had to use google translate and even then he didn’t know much about the history etc What a waste of time Ensure your guide speaks English otherwise do not book this tour

The climate was extremely hot and the AC in the car was very bad. The driver switched off the AC many times. If the trip started in the afternoon and ended by sunset it would have been better as the days are very very hot and we were boiling inside the car. The driver was a very good man and he was very courteous. Only issue is that he doesn't speak English.

The whole "tour" consists in a Russian speaking taxi driver coming to pick you up from your hotel and driving you to Shahrisabz. You can find something WAY cheaper just stopping a taxi driver in Samarkand by yourself. We were supposed to have a tour in English and all we got was this old guy who did not understand a word. Avoid this!

The service offered is just a driver. He could give some basic instructions in English. The drive took about 2 hours one way, went through a beautiful landscape, and included some interesting photo stops. The sights in Shahrisabz are not as spectacular as at other places in Uzbekistan but still worth seeing. For me, it was a relaxing and enjoyable trip before my flight back to Europe the next day.
