Paula was an amazing guide that provided us with so much information and tips during the drive to/from Rome. The visit to Pompei was The visit to Pompeii was fantastic with our guide, Sasa. He provided so much knowledge with humor. Lunch was excellent and the perfect amount of time. The hike up Vesuvius is strenuous in the heat of summer, but the views are breathtaking. Our guide Diego was also excellent! Overall, I highly recommend this tour!

We had a great time today with Paula and the other guides. Pickup went smoothly, we stopped halfway on the 3 hour drive for bathroom breaks and a snack (if you choose). Paula pointed out places of interest and shared stories with us. She was very friendly and engaging. Sasha was great guide at Pompeii. He had a dry sense of humor that came out as the tour continued. Lunch was excellent and a lot of food. Diego was a super guide at Vesuvius. He was very informative and friendly. The hike was challenging but manageable in the heat. The view from the top is incredible.

A super day but Vesuvius was too steep for me (I am 70). After Pompeii it was too much, but I tried.

This was the highlight of our trip! Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius was more than we could have hoped for: grueling hike in the heat wave with our expert guide ended with the most spectacular view at the top! Archaeologist tour guide at Pompeii ruins was engaging and full of fun stories about the buried city. Would definitely recommend during cooler months and should wear sturdy hiking shoes and water bottle. The bus picked us up in Rome at an easily identifiable restaurant where we met our wonderful guide. This was worth the money and time!!

Our trip was very nice, the tour guides were very knowledgeable about each location, dropping interesting and random facts along the way. It was worth it for the money, and lunch was very nice.

We traveled with my 8year old and I must say, even in the heat wave, we had the best time!! Location was super easy to find, guides were fantastic and friendly. Sasha was wonderful as he pointed out historical landmarks and cities along the way. Headsets worked great as well when we got separated by all the tourists. Easy to spot our guide: always with the red flag when we got distracted. The crater walk to Mt. Vesuvius was not for the faint of heart, but absolutely 💯 worth it! What a knowledgeable group of guides at all points. We appreciate the timed breaks on the van ride there and back as well as stopping points along the way as you tackle the crater hike. Would highly recommend for families of kids around 8 or older as you wouldn’t want to have to carry your toddler up the mountain.

This day trip is really great if you like history, nature or having a mini adventure. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes.

If you can, book all your activities and excursions with The Tour Guy!!. Not only are the tour guides incredibly knowledgeable, they are kind, witty and fun to be around. They make you feel welcomed and are often accommodating which is appreciated for all the running around I had to do in Rome. One thing I suggest is to always arrive at your meeting point 10-30 minutes ahead of time. They are on a schedule mostly because of the strict entrance times of your admission at the places you tour.
